Anybody else have this kit? I have a problem with loping at idle dont know if its the fuel injection kit or my straight pipes(no backpressure which means a bad o2 reading).
Or if you have any other problems.
Also the Mallory distributor they make for the kit

Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
loping at idle
What does this mean? What cam? (specs or part # only, please; not "mild", "RV", "¾ race", etc.)
The O2 sensor does not care about "back pressure".
Or if you have any other problems

I have this kit as well. I was able to stabalize the idle by turning off the idle control and adjust the idle screw a little higher. Around 1000RPM. However it smells like it is dumping alot of fuel. Also when the engine has been run hard for awhile I also get the loping idle. I am running a comp cam 104124 Hyd. Roller Special 210-216, Edelbrock Alum Heads and Flow Tech headers.
I would like to go back to the TPI but I don't know everything that is involved. Also if anyone has any idea about tuning for fuel economy and racing any input would be welcome.

Well loping means it sounds like it has a big cam but i only have the edelbrock cam 234/244 duration, .488"/.510"lift, part # in Summit EDL-7102
----------
Yeah i did that and it does that to but only after the straight pipes went in. You think the O2 sensor got damaged

Oh man, sorry to hear that.... I wish the word would get out and people would quit reaming themselves like that....
That's one of the WORST cams there is. It's a relic from the Stone Age, from back when they made cams from granite using a hammer and chisel. ANY modern cam with similar lift and .050" duration specs will both outrun it, and will cause less of the "big cam" behavior. Basically, that ancient POS gives you the worst of all possible worlds.
Then on top of that, you got tricked into paying extra for it besides. You could have bought it like this
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...art=SUM%2D1107
instead of like this
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...art=EDL%2D7102
And got the IDENTICAL SAME POS. But look at the difference in the price tag.
Oh well, it's too late now for you, but you can help rescue others from that mistake in the future, by passing along your dissatisfaction with it.
No I don't think the O2 sensor got damaged.
Take that POS cam out and put back in a Comp XE268 or 274, or the Lunati Voodoo that's 227°/233° @ .050", I forget the part #. Any of those cams will make WAY MORE power, and cure the "big cam disease" as well.
