will this ignition kit work?

i have an 86 so i currently have the coil in cap distributor which i am going to have to replace with a small cap distributor with external coil when i instal my HSR.

will this kit from summit work even though it says "This ignition system is designed for carbureted, non-computer controlled applications only."

is there a way to make it work?

-edit- i forgot to put the link in, here it is:http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

well carb engines used the same large cap HEI

but were EST controlled as were FI engines

apparently 86 was the last year for the large cap HEE except corvettes throguh 91 and i did not know this til i found this page http://www.fuelinjection.com/portinj.html

what exactly are you doing

i guess someone else will know, cuz i dont, but i learned something new here, lol

good luck

shouldn't matter as long as you get the two plugs for the Distributor. in the small caps distro. its one pink and one white wire for each plug if i remember correctly. these control the spart from the distro. hope this helps some. without seein the large cap and the wires thats all i can say. GL

on my large cap there is 2 wires that plug into the side. one for tach, and one for bat, im not sure on the colors since they arent in the best shape but i think im gonna call summit to see if they think it will work.
