LT1 Intake on L98. Need cam advice
I'm swapping to an LT1 Intake and need some advice on the cam.
Vehicle specs:
89 Formula
TCI 10" 3,000 stall converter
3.27 gears
Stock iron heads
Shorty headers w/ ORY and Magnaflow bullet muffler
CAI
52mm TB
MSD 6A/MSD coil
UD Pullies
1.6 RR
Will also have custom chip burned as well. What cam would work well with this set up? Thanks in advance, Chris.

Hi ZJ-
I think you might get good results with one of the small XFI cams (Comp Cams). They are a good line, witha bunch of lift via 1.6 roller rockers and hyd roller lifters.
I have a 280XFI in a 383. It burns the tires in any low gear, and the fuel whenever you turn it on.
My guess is the smaller XFIs will give you a nice punch up top, good torque, good idle, decent mileage. Something you will not mind driving a lot. The smaller valves and ports will keep your low speedstuff going and the lift and lobe will make full throttle fun, but not scary.
My 2 cents. Good luck!

stock heads will need some mods to handle the lift of the cam. I'd suggest keeping lift down to around .500-.510 so you'd want to use 1.5 rockers
Since you have 1.6's you will need heads worked to handle the cam lift
LT4 hotcam is a great grind too, proven to work with stock heads. capable of 320-330 whp in the right setup

I will have a similar set-up whenever I get it finished.
I am going with the cc305 cam but I am only using 1.5 crane gold rockers not 1.6's.
----------
Forgot to include my sig that has some of the parts I am using.
