One owner asked if we could make a reproduction of the throttle cable bracket that sits on top of the T-Ram - would anyone else need one of these if we made them?
That Formula with the T-Ram was a great buy. 12 or 16k I think I remember seeing it for. How cool would that be to daily drive that car in nice weather. I loved driving my 88 White formula in the 90's. Is that car auto or stick?
Most people grossly underestimate the amount of time, effort & money it takes to reproduce any part! I'm sure you would agree.
You are correct, these parts take so much time and effort, and it's difficult to justify the cost. My machinist gave me a set price so he could take on the challenge for his experience, but he had double the time invested in it after like two weeks on and off on the CNC mill.
I am still hitting my head since I had the chance to buy a NOS T-Ram intake from SLP Canada about 10 years ago for 1200$ Can!!! They were selling a set of NOS Firehawk wheels and a NOS SLP dual cold air intake which I grabbed but I should taken everything they had... since the last production of the 4th gen they aren't SLP anymore but known as Zeke's performance. I decided to go with the Superram setup because their intake was incomplete missing bolts water neck and couple other things that would be possible to find or fab argggh!
Is there anybody on here who knows of a t ram that anybody would let go? Willing to pay good money for one! I have always wanted one for my 1LE, and now I am finally in a position where I can afford to buy one, and do what is needed to make one run on the car. Seems like there are a handful out there still but nobody is willing to let one go! HELP!! Lol
My understanding was they never existed. That number was perhaps a "forecast" of production, but without tooling (since it was destroyed long ago), it never happened.
The T-Ram was expensive new when compared to other, more popular options such as big / Siamesed runners, mini ram, and Super ram.
I feel like there has to be half of the T rams laying around in the back of old speed shops, or guys garages collecting dust lol I wonder how many people have one and have no idea how sought after they are.
Well, SLP was supposed to have built 250 92 hawks sooo i'd think they should have had at least that many ready for production. How many for testing? How many for sale over the counter? What was the magic number needed to be produced to drop the cost on production? How many were "lost" in the fire?
I know of 5 or so that were destroyed because the owners didn't care or know it was special. Some are on boats too, crazy but true.
That's wild.. on a boat. Well I guess some would consider our third gen cars boats or boat anchors! Seems like there is a lot more of them in the Midwest / east coast than on the west coast
I made the belt guard and the charcoal canister relocation bracket. Never made the throttle bracket or the cruise control bracket because I had them and nobody else seemed to need them.
I haven't really been keeping track, but I can only remember a few over the years on the forum. Probably seen less than a dozen, not counting Firehawks.
I was one of the first T-Ram owners on this site back in the day, the day being late 90's. I bought every part you could buy for a retrofit as I put mine on a 1987 IROC. All the accessory drive parts were for a 89 up serpentine system but I got it to work with my 87 acc drive individual belt drives minus the AC. My second user name on this site was 874ME, I dont recall the first one. Most of the instructions you see posted on this site for the T-Ram were provided by me.
I am going through a divorce and just pulled my car out of the garage, it's been in a conditioned garage since 1997 and would like to sell it, along with the T-Ram and every optional part along with the boxes and instructions it came with. I also have a set of Trick Flow twisted wedge heads and AFR Eliminator heads on the engine that would go with the car. Also have a brand new HSR that would be included. I had the car repainted in the early 2000's as well as rebuilt the suspension with Hotchkis, KONI and SPAHN parts, new leather OEM steering wheel (650.00 at the time) and all new GM weather stripping and the last of OEM striping and lighting kits. It has weld in SFC's, full SLP SS exhaust ( 2OTL) and a bunch of other 3rd gen centric parts. Shoot me a PM if your interested in the entire package. I would like 12K for the entire package. It doesnt run, the last custom cam I put in it didnt have a pressed on cast iron dizzy gear like I requested and it shredded the MSD pro billet billet timing gear. I think it needs the ZZ4 shortblock replaced. The parts alone are worth what I am asking not to mention the great rust free really nicely painted body and great interior. I also have some SLP 3rd gen ZR1 knockoff rims. Like I said, I have a bunch of third gen stuff that would be included with the sale.
These pics are of my car after removing it from my garage (soon to be ex is living in my house) and hauling it over to my sisters house Friday night. I'm putting the car in to my brothers garage Monday 5-28-2018. Last night was the first time this car has been outside at night since 1998.

Over the past 20 years I have seen lots of people post that they have a T-Ram, but have never seen photo's of it actually in use. Mine has been used, and I will say it worked great with the first cam I used with it along with the TF heads. Going to the AFR's and a larger cam was a mistake, not just because of the hardened steel gear issue, it was way funner to drive with the milder cam. The T-Ram wasnt made to offer 6500 RPM power, it built great power along with the cam I still have that's in great shape at 5800 rpm. I don't know if the AFR's made better power, but I do know I drove the crap out of the previous setup and it surprised a lot of new age muscle back in the mid 2000's. The 2600 stall would snap your head back in second gear at 35 MPH and start spinning the tires almost through 85 MPH , I always found it amusing when doing this versus LS1 4th gens as they looked at you around 70 MPH like you were cheating. The T-ram flat out worked, but you had to have the right injectors and tune. My car has an Ed Wright tune that was spot on for the first setup.
