Miniram Combos
I would like to see some Miniram combos and Horse Power if possible. Track times too. Just want to get an idea because I pull my TFS heads off and getting them fully ported. They should flow close to 295-305cfms. It made 409whp on a week tune.

Re: Miniram Combos
While I dont have a miniram, I have a converted LT1 intake( the cheap mini-ram version)
LT1 intake with 58mm TB
AFR 195 elim heads
old engine was a 383, with 10.9 compression
280xfi cam
1 5/8 headers
It made 377rwhp and best of 12. @ 110 na, 11 @ 125 with a 145 shot of n20

Re: Miniram Combos
Se if you can find TPIs books, there are some dyno pulls with diffrent cams.....
also there is a article called "ten times the torque" where they compared diffrent tpi intakes, on a 383cui with a XE288 cam.

Re: Miniram Combos
Mine is carbed now, but here was the old miniram setup:
58mm TB, 1 3/4" headers, 3" single exhaust, stock L98 shortblock, custom Joe O cam (236/242@.050 and .580" lift), ported AFR 190's, 3600 Vig converter and 4.10 gears. 11.66@117MPH in a 1990 IROC. This was by the previous owner who raced at a sea level track. In 3000' DA I would consistenetly run 12.0 at 114 shifting at 6800RPM.

Thought I posted a friends combo here...I must have posted it on Corvette forum...

TPIS 242/242 solid roller. 3400-ish lb car it went 10.8's with Th350 trans at 125.x mph. T56 on stock rear got down to 11.0's at 127 but didnt want to stress the rear end.
Then 406 refreshed, heads ported to 208cc and 310cfm or so, upgraded cam to a UDharold custom solid roller, I believe around 248/252, mid 600's lift. New rear end....Made 468whp running lean on dyno, 13.2 air fuel. T56 tranny. Think it went 10.6's at 128 at first, then track tuned it to 130mph so it picked up abit of power from richening mixture. Never had it back on dyno but probably 480's-490's whp? Single plane EFI intake swap went 10.4's at 132 all motor, 521whp and 512whp on the dyno's, so its verified making big numbers to back the ET's.

Re: Miniram Combos
^^^Thats pretty impressive!
Do you think the gain from switching to a single plane was from only using a 1204 miniram? Just curious, haven't seen too many back to back comparisons in my searching around.

Re: Miniram Combos
Yep the car has been one of the more impressive builds I've ever seen around. There are stroker LS1 cars running slower than his build. 132mph all motor is insane. My old turbo motor on 10psi would trap 134 but I think I'm 100lbs heavier but still...
Yes partially the gain was from stepping up the port size. The single plane is still 1205 port tho, same as the heads, and can be opened to 1207 like the one I have
I just think out the box the single plane flows more, has more even air flow distribution IMO and runner length is more in tune with what the motor wants. Its abit longer than miniram and should help with torque.
Talk to 87TA for more details, its his motor that I've seen run many many times over the last 5-7 years or so.
