How do I take care of EGR after HSR install?

Hey guys just wondering what needs to be done to disable the EGR after I install my HSR? Some say plug it, some say disconnect all hoses, some say just removed it from your chip. I am going to tune after the HSR install I just won't be able to do it immediately as I have no tuning equipment and will probably have to rely on mail order tune. Thanks for the help guys!

MAF cars you can just unhook it all. SD cars, I'm not 100% sure if it works the same but I think so. Try it, if it sets a code, clear it and have it removed in the chip.
I know the knock sensors on MAFs can be unpluged an not set a code and SD cars you can't without a code.

Remove everything and disable the Code 32 flag... done!

You would also want to set the min mat vs egr to the max setting to avoid timing advance.

The ECM will still think EGR is there , it only monitors if it is working of not ; no feedback to say it has been removed completely
And because it does not know it is gone it will continue (try ) to operate it and will advance the spark as it is programmed

As tunedperformanc and Twin_Turbo mention you have to disable EGR on the tune so it is never activated
which means because it is not activated , you never get a code from it not working

Code 43
http://www.chevythunder.com/maf_esc_module_code_43.htm

On start up the ECM advances the spark enough to generate knock so it knows the KS is working.
If it doesn't see it working it throws a 43 and will prevent spark advance over 1500 ? rpm

Knock sensors are calibrated specific to a engine /ECM which is why you must use the correct one

It is best to remove the egr from the chip but it will run and not set a code if its unplugged. (for sure on maf) (its just a controlled item and not a "feedback" sensor)
With the KS, I have 6 maf cars (untuned, timing bumped(temp) around here with many many miles that its unplugged on and they have always run waaaay better than with them plugged in and no code.
If you run crappy fuel, def leave it plugged in and working.
My KS has been unplugged for 180,000 plus miles and never ever set a code 43. Same with EGR.
Yes it should all be tuned out and turned off but will work until that can be done.

Okay. I will unplug it to get around, set optimum timing (which I had heard was 8* for the HSR. Any care to confirm?) and then take the whole damn thing off? And then tune it out.
