LT1 Intake Modified to accept distributor

Hello,

Haven't been on here in a while but I am working on a project and I figured if any forum would have the information on this topic it would be this one. I am building a heads/cam 350. Started as a TPI engine. I would like to take advantage of the mid and upper power band. I can't afford a TPIS mini ram or a stealth ram. With all the fuss over these LSx engines it seems like the modified LT1 intakes that once flooded the internet are now gone. Is there anyone still modifying LT1 intakes to work on GEN I 350 engines? I just don't have the time to do it myself; I am hoping someone still builds them?

Because when the HSR became available ,most found it was a better option given the amount of work required to mod a LT1 intake ( unless you can do the machine work yourself)

Re: LT1 Intake Modified to accept distributor

I've got one of the LT1 intakes for sale that I purchased from LT1intake.com years ago. It includes the remote thermostat housing that was drilled and tapped as well. Let me know if you're interested.

Re: LT1 Intake Modified to accept distributor

They are cheap to buy, usually under $100.

I have one, they may not look as good as a mini-ram, but at the time it was much cheaper.

did you do all the work yourself or take it to a machine shop? i know where i can get one for $40 which is super cheap if you ask me but its just slightly out of what i am willing to just try without having much of a plan

Re: LT1 Intake Modified to accept distributor

I bought it with the hole cut for the dizzy.
Had to buy/fabricate fuel hoses, coolant hoses, remote thermo, throttle bracket, different throttle cable, washers to get right alignment of intake bolts and probably some more stuff.

Re: LT1 Intake Modified to accept distributor

If i could buy one with the distributor hole cut and real good idea of where and how to do the remote thermostat i think the rest would a little easier. there was a website and a guy who use to do this 5-10 years or so ago. i researched this a long time ago before i had a third gen and thought i should buy one.. wish i did now so id have a template at least.

Re: LT1 Intake Modified to accept distributor

Gotta be in the same spot asa Gen 1 dist Id think.
Bet a good machine shop could do it Moroso sells the flange (for lack of a better term)
and get the height right.

Anyone know if you can run a dist along with the EGR in place?

Re: LT1 Intake Modified to accept distributor

My old setup 383 LT1 with distributor before I went LSX

Do a few of you guys still need them done? Ive done dozens of them and can do more if an interest is there.

YOU WILL have to source your own Distributor spacer. I will do the Distrib. Hole and intake bolt holes.
