Installing vortec HSR on zz4 heads?

Can this be done? Can I simply drill new holes in the intake flanges? Has anyone performed this task, or should I continue to look for someone to swap me bases? Thanks

You could use a gasket to see if the ports will line up close enough but usually vortecs and standard intake patterns wont work without welding and machining. It would probable be better to just find the correct manifold.

I made a template out of 2” masking tape and cardboard (felpro 1255’s are a week out) this actually seems pretty easy and very do-able. When the gaskets come in I’ll confirm my measurements, I’m just wondering if anyone else has tried this. For the price I got the HSR for, I think I’ll take my chances. Thanks for the reply!!!

Knowing that the vortec base is now obsolete I would simply buy the 7540 base or sell your current one to cover the cost of the correct one.
