Need help with miniram

I am in the middle of installing a Miniram on my firebird. I bought it used and unfortunately didn’t get the thermostat housing. Are there any other options that fit in its place? I have emailed tpis about buying a new one but haven’t heard back yet.
thanks

Re: Need help with miniram

Double check thermostat depth on intake manifold some were machined to have much less depth than others

Go to a junk yard and get a t-stat housing that is clocked the way that you want it. That's what I did....Easy Button.

I mean, I didn't make a list, but I probably have 10 housings in the "museum"" at the moment. I have used most of them through my "10x the tork take too", tests...that's why I acquired them. I have found the L31 Vortec housing has worked great for many of the intakes.

Have you used the vortec housing on a Miniram? I don’t have any junkyards in my area that let you pick and pull your own parts

Re: Need help with miniram

Ebay?

I can't remember which neck I used on the MiniRam. I looked back through pics from that intakes testing thread that I wrote, but the only pic I have of the MiniRam is after I pulled the stat housing as I started to pull the intake. Bummer. I have the intake in the "museum", still, so I can pull it down and mess w/the necks I have, see if I can figure out which one I used and send you a pic of the thing, if that would help? IDK if the Dorman one that Tuned posted is the solution? Or what that is...maybe he can clarify if that will work for you?

I have leads on one for the F body. I’ll message you if it checks out it’s available.

Re: Need help with miniram

Be careful with the Miniram's water neck. I found out that its so shallow that the thermostat can't open all the way... it was causing strange temperature behavior on my Camaro that I couldn't figure out.

https://nastyz28.com/threads/another...8/post-3906364

I had to put a spacer under the thermostat. Moroso 63469.

There's just enough room between the water neck flange on the manifold and the bottom of the throttle body to get this spacer in there.

I read only some minirams have this problem. So best to measure yours and make sure.

Re: Need help with miniram

Here are a couple of junkers that fit under the TB. May need to chop the coolant Passage. Not sure about the orientation for your application of the upper hose but one of them must have worked for me because, I had it on there and it was working....
