I just finished polishing my IROC wheels and that was a pain, I'm sure the RS wheels are a lot more difficult.
What is involved in dipping them?? What does that do??

well i have only seen one picture of dipped wheels. i think that all they do is take the wheels and dip them in chrome. so it makes the wheels have a shinny chrome appearance. i think this costs about $200.00. I thought if i polisheed them i could paint(in the grooves) them the same color as my car (med metallic blue). if igures that would give the car a custom look since they only came in red, white and black i believe from the factory. BTW: mark your wheels look awesome.
It runs anywhere from $800 to $1500, thats the bad thing but the results are worth it, i'll take some pics of my rims. I have never seen anybody else with them so it makes mine every more the attention grabber. If it works, this is not that great of a picture its the only one i could find without tearing my house up, ill keep looking though.

oh wow i was told that you give them your old wheels and they give you a set of 4 new ones for like $200, i guess i should check a little better on that and see if it is true.

I would question that place. For mine they took my rims sandblasted them to get all the dirt off and so on and then they dipped them in chrome twice, then they put two clear coats on them to protect them. sorry my pics did not come out, I do not know how to post any pics ( any help would be great anybody ).
I checked into getting my wheels dipped (platted) and I found that most places will only clean and plate the wheels (THEY WILL NOT REPAIR DEFECTS), which means any nicks or dings or curb rashes will still be there just chrome plated.
if you go with the platting make sure of what your getting prior to getting it done (word to the wise).

I had my rims refinished and balanced and everything. One had a wobble, one was bent, and the other two were okay. Some had some curb rash, but that's all gone now. I took them to Wheel Collision Center and they did a wonderful job. They weren't the origional rims on my car and I bought 6 of them from a guy for 300 bucks. The whole process of having them balanced, refinished, repained, and tires mounted totaled a little over $600. IMO I think it was totally worth it, I like the stock look, and I love the color matching of the rim to the car! But then again, I think chrome looks awesome too. But anway here is a picture of the rim after being refinished.
