Anyone with the SS hood on there camaro

Hey

I think the SS style hoods like the best on the thirdgen camaros. I am thinking of getting one when I get my car painted, Show me some pics of how they look.

because it still has the origional paint from 1985. It looks good in the picture but my clear coat is coming off on the roof and on the hatch. It will look really nice when I get it repainted. I am going to keep it stock color though. I am going to repaint in 2 years or so.

Umm... no it doesn't?

OK, you have obviously seen this pic before. It used to say 'SS' on it, but I photoshopped it to see how my car would look with an SS hood and I got rid of the 'SS' plate and window banner.

See...

Hey KiLLJOY, I do know when you order the hood they want to know whether it's for a tbi or tpi so something must work in there. I just haven't found out what!

I have one, and it is fully functional, the air get trapped by the scoop and forced into the air cleaner, but I do have the open element air cleaner, it wouldn't do much at all for my old tbi.

Hey theisenator, I heard the ss hood gives about 2 1/4 inches extra hood clearance is this true? I just put a 350 with an intake thats too tall with the carb. and needs at least an inch or two more clearance. Also how is the ram air directed into the carb is it a straight shot through the aircleaner so it shoots right through to the otherside of the aircleaner instead of the carb? Any help would be appreciated

Like I have to try!

Actually, the gamma on my monitor was way off and everything appeared darker. When I edited that, the 'SS' was not visable.
