The rims are actually nice looking. I agree with the hood and spoiler though.. yuck. That hood is too curved for the boxy thirdgen body style. Does not go AT ALL. But, I'm not the one driving it, so it doesn't matter.

I agree with the last two posts. Its kinda like getting one of those huge honda front skirts and putting it on a corvette.

The wheels are very nice. But personally I can't stand that hood on thirdgens. As said above it just doesn't match the lines of our cars at all. It's like sticking a Fabio's nose on Pamela Anderson. The ASCD hood at least keeps the same body lines.

Yeah but the ascd hood doesn't pack a punch like that one does, I love it! Do Mustang Cobra R's really fit on a Firebird? Are they the same bolt pattern? That looks bad ***.

I Like the way your car look stock. No center caps?
if i had a firebird, i'd buy that hood in a flash. It is by far my fav aftermarket firebird hood. I wouldn't be so anxcious to get it for a camaro though because on a firebird, people will know how it resembles new firebirds. The same thing as a ASCD SS hood on a camaro, resmbles the fourth gen.
I'm not a fan of the spoiler at all
the wheels are good

I can stomach the LT1 style hood on thirdgens....I actually really like them on 91-92 firebirds. it suits the bodylines perfectly. And I like the SS style hood on the camaros...alot. But that LS1 hood just, ugh, makes the whole car look out of balance

i think that hood looks BAD A$$
if i had a bird, that'd be the first thing i would buy
IMHO, the 3rd gen birds look too tame..............they look nice, but too tame.........that hood is exactly what they need

I love that hood, but that spoiler looks awful. The rims look good, but I wouldnt put them on my car because I would get tired of hearing "Dude why do you have mustang rims on your firebird?" I want to repaint my car either black or silver and get that hood and drop it with just a bit of rake, and you all will see, that hood can be made to look awesome....

pics of my ta with cobra's
flyin low: hideious? dirt? your'e just mad because you didn't think of it first!!! as to everyone else thanks! to the one's who don't like it, your opinions have been noted and they're very appreciated! yes i know there cobra's, but i had to do something different with this car, i just didn't want to have a factory looking car! i still have the stock hood so thats not a problem. i'm now in the process of building my 500hp 383, so come to my site to see, and read all the updates. i purchased the rims from performance wheel outlet in ca, the adapters where made by classic wheel works in glendora ca, and the hood is from gt auto acc in fla and the wing i purchased at ascd in knoxville tn. if there is any questions about my car or if you would like to see more of her come to this site!! http://kyiconracing.tripod.com
and flyin slow, don't knock anyone's car before you look at your own!!!
later badgta!!
i agree with the tasteful ones in here
those LS1 WS6 hoods look worse than janet reno in a G-string
and im just curious about the red TA with the cobraR's, is that a cobra spoiler too?
it really looks rainbow-riffic

these are the best hoods for third gens
to me these are the best looking hoods made for third gens right now! riding around it a stock ta was like running around in a pinto... i wanted that aggresive look, and tell me if you were at a show with ta's which would be the first to stand out? mine? or a stock one? lets just say when i'm near a mustang and they see her sitting there rumbling, they don't mess with me!! he he he

yeah, I guess my hood is ugly
i guess that's why everyone has different taste...
but. oh well. What do I know. Only thing I have to go on are my 4 best of show trophies, and a handful of 11 second timeslips.
Man. I guess I've been going about it completely wrong for the past 2 years. Oh well...
:hail: stock looking, 16 second Fbodies.
Oh, and for further discussion.. I guess I'll throw in a few pics of my "ugly ride" but hell.. i'd better not show pics with the hood on.. Don't want to make any go blind!

Oh, the hell with it.. here's a pic for all the haters

WAAAAH WAAAAH WAAAH. Look guys, I never said you cant, or shouldnt put those hoods on yer car. I just said I think its ugly. Then the guys (some, not all) who have it get in an uproar about :I can have what I want on my car....you dont have to like it". Very good. Those are lessons from grade 2. And along with you having the right to do what you want. We have the right to think/say what we want. My cars been called ugly by corvette guys, and plain by ram air hood guys
. I personally couldnt care less. I find it hilarious....GET OVER IT!
P.S. Bad GTA, I like the parental advisory logo on yer webpage....where'd ta get it?

My opinion-the cars one bad *** ride. I think overall it works well. Its different, and thats what we need. If all our rides looked the same we wouldn't have boards like this. Anyway, I like the hood and the spoiler. I saw the same wing on a camaro this week and thought it was sharp enough to ask around about. So if anyone knows where I can find one, please let me know.
That big thing in the middle of the hood is actually part of the hood? I thought somebody flipped and crashed a jet-ski on the guy's hood.
EDIT: I just went back and looked at 12 sec GTA's pictures. Look closely at the bottle pic. A box of rubbers on the floor board of a Trans Am... talk about your high school parking lot stereotypes!
Is that a roach clip I see dangling from the mirror?

I personally love the hood. I don't think it clashes too much...but a little. It gives it something it was missing.
Hey 12 sec gta....is that Ben87GTA's old ride? Are your really the same guy in disguise?? That car's been a member of my desktop background gallery for awhile. I remember him saying something about hooking up a functional airbox, got pix?
FlyinLow89: Your car simply put...the factory look on that color car owns. If I had to keep something stock looking, It'd be your car. The RAII hood would just look out of place on it, it's too much of a near sleeper.

haha. yeah, i didn't notice the box was there.. It's usually under the seat.. must have slid out from the races sat night..
But, I'm not in highschool anyways
I don't think the hood looks that bad, and I actually thought about getting one back before 86FyrBrd got one on his car. I quickly lost interest in the idea and threw it out the window as I personally love the stock look of the T/A's so I see no need to change much appearance wise. BTMO

The rims on my car
:hail: flyin'low89...you should know where i got the advisory LOL!!
Rhoadster...look up a few posts and you'll see where you can get the wing at.
As for personal preferences..it really doesn't matter..point is, we all love and drive 3rd gens and want them to look as good as they can. Some just go at it differently than others. Some like the Stock look and others...well, we just want to scare all the mustang owners away!
I've been told, before all the mods, that my car looked too slow and i've lost chances at races that i know were easy kills. but since i've vamped up the look, now I have racers who back down saying my car was too fast for them even before they knew what she could do.
where i come from, it's mustang central, and seeing 3rd gens in decent shape are hard to come by, let alone, seeing one that the owner can really be proud of. When I first started my racing team, i wanted it to be ta's only, but that was impossible in my area, so now it's just my TA standing alone against a mustang racing team...she was holding her own until the engine went down...but still, i'm left unsatisfied. why? because even when my TA wins, she still doesn't get the respect she deserves when all around me are Mustangs.
Oh well...at least i can come to this site and others like it to verify that there are still TA lovers out there and that no matter our differences, we stand together..with that said...flyin'low and whoever my brother i might have offended...my appologies are extended.
we just all, at some point, can't take the bullsh*t handed to our rides after all the time, hardwork, and money put in. later..badgta

ASCD
The one thing I do like about the ASCD hood is that it doesn't take away from the bodystyle, but rather compliments it. Very similar to the Formula bulge hood.
I had to get a hood with enough clearance for my motor. I noticed that the clearance with what I have just barely clears underneath.
All in all the ASCD hood is about the nicest aftermarket hood I have seen for the Firebird. Plus it gave me the clearance I needed.
