Just stick around here and ask questions, by the time you're ready for a car, you'll be a 3rd Gen expert. I've learned a lot from the 1.5 yrs I've been here.
But like IROCTWENTY said, what do you want out of it?

Don't listen to Bill, he's got a four banger LOL. Nah, Im only playin. Not like I have better, a V6. I bet u can get some big bucks for the uniqueness of the four cylinder firebird. Actually, I wouldn't mind that. Well, to answer your question, I havea 92 RS V6 with an automatic. I do wish I had the manual, then the car wouldn't be bad. It has plenty of pep, just try for fuel injection, I feel they are easier to operate and more reliable. Not to say anything against the 2.8's, but I hear things about their reliability, so watch out. But anyways, look around. (now that I said reliability I bet my car is gonna fall apart on the way to work tomorrow)

Hey whatz up!
I'm only 15 (in one week
). Ive been on this board now for about a year(not in this name though). I knows alot stuff about these carss now, so when i go to buy one in the next year, i'll be looking for a 91-92 firebird or camaro (preferably a GTA). I wants a standard too, so i'm either getting a 305tpi 5-speed or a 350TPI that has been changed(You can't buy a 350 standard!
).
PS;for anyone whos cares; there are two great cars by me that will be up for sale in a while, and i'm watching both of them. one is a 1991 camaro Z28 25th anniversary 1LE TPI 5-speed. awesome condition with leather and its about 9000(canadian money) and ther other is a 1991 GTA 350tpi with an alarm and flowmasters for about 7500-8000.

He likes/is looking for Camaro's.
He already likes real style.

ill be 16 in one month(June 28th) and i have a 89 Firebird Formula, its the LB9 TPI, and a 5-speed. I prefer the look of the firebird over the camaro, but I wouldnt turn down a nice camaro for the right price.
Anyways, I paid $1000 for my bird....I got ripped off though, rusted out floorpans and inner fenders...also 139,000 miles... but oh well I guess....
I probably wont have the car done by my birthday but hopefully soon.
This site is very informational and i have learned ALOT!! keep visiting and buy the time your ready to buy, you will know what to look for and everything about that car..

Just get an RS, insurance is cheaper and for a new driver you dont want anything to crazy. Then if you want more power just swap in a bigger engine. I did it if you have any questions.
Well, You have got plenty of time!!!! So do what most of us didnt do when we were your age>>>>>>>>>SAVE YOUR MONEY... you will regret it if you dont. I know I do every day. But I agree with CAMRS......get an RS. The rest depends on how good you are with cars. If you can save up enough......maybe 5 or 6k then you could get a very sound camaro. I paid $2200 for my 89RS. It has 208,000 miles on it but it runs excellent. No major work at all. Replaced a starter and alternator here and there. So like I said Save your money and you can have one sweet 3rd gen..............................Unless youre like my best friend and your dad buys you a new Firehawk

I wouldnt go convertible. Insurance is high on my 89 RS hardtop with just liability on mine and I have a perfect record. So Im sure its going to kill you on a new driver. Thridgens are pretty common too so dont jump on the first one you see. I paid $900 for mine with a strait body and decent paint, minor rock chips. Engine was a carbed 350 that was put in there. Had some problems but a new engine found its way in here.
when i was 16 i got my 82 z28 for $500 and i also got a parts car. the only minor things done to it was all new ignition system and a cat back exuast and i repainted it in august last yr. and now ill be 18 in 2 months and my car is still sweet. the on things wrong that would take alot of work is rusted thru floorboards and sum rust on the strut support thingy. and i hope to get the changed soon but doubt any time soon. well just like the others said save and hey u could have a nice 350 camaro or bird if u save and if u still have money swap a t-56 into the car.
you could always do what i did and work your way up. my first car was an 84 camaro 305 carb/auto t-tops respectable condition other than the bright purple paint job, but i sold it and used that money to put down on a 92 camaro rs anniv. edition about 1 year 1/2 ago and i sold it a few months ago and used that money to get my 91 z28 conv. and my next step will be my dream car. 69 camaro rs/ss. and im only 19 now, soon to be 20 though, but i worked hard for the cars ive had and wanted. and about 4 months ago if you asked me if i thought i would ever get a conv. i wouldve told you theres no way i can afford it, but i paid $700 less for my 'vert than i did my 92 rs and my 'vert's in better condition, but anyways im sure i've bored you. so just save up your money and go for the one you want most of all.
