Should I paint my headlight area red?
Should I paint my headlight area red?
When I get my car painted at Maaco next week, I was thinking of asking them to paint over the black that is there now. Its getting faded and looks like crap. I had told Maaco I wanted it masked off. I think it would look pretty good all bright red like the RS versions had. What do you guys think?

I agree, leave it black. I just taped off the surrounding areas and repainted it with spray paint, looked a lot better.

Definetly paint the headlight pockets. Red and black is incredible, and it is an IROC-Z.

I just wanna say..........
LOL
Its an IROC-Z, it should have the headlight pockets like the way they were intended, it looks great also. Probably why they did that to them.

ok you guys are gonna think I'm crazy for this, but I'd definetly go with red, two of my friends have red irocs with black headlight areas, and I don't like them, another friend has a blue 91 Z with black, and that is worse yet
actually, dark red + black = good
lighter red + black = not my taste
I'm a car show judge at a fairly big show, and I've seen some bad thirdgens, the main thing is that if it the colors go together nice and it looks good, then it good
one of the ugliest cars I've judged was a late 80s camaro that was "speckle painted" it had blue, green, and metal (gray/silver) with black head light pockets, talk about ugly

I have to say that does look good. That is an exact replica of my car except my wheels are the newer style and my door stickers are towards the rear. Its a tough decision.... I'm also not putting on the stripes again. I think the red irocs look better without stripes.

No way!! Looks like an RS or an undone IROC-Z, they look better stock and correct, gotta have the stripes too.
