I personally feel that the RAII hoods look better on the 91-92 Birds with the aero gfx. It might be because I have one on my 91 The hood just seems to flow with the car more due to the gfx and front facia.

Do you have any pictures of that 91 with the RAII hood??? I'd love to see at least one...more is better. I have yet to see a 91-92 with it.

karps, is that the Ram Air I? i think i like it better than the RAII. the RAII too rounded and does flow better with the aero front clip. do you have any more pics of ur car? i'd like to see a shot from the front that shows the hood better. thanx all

ram air 2

to me the ram air 2 is better on the 85-90 models... i seen a pic on here of a black formula with the ram air 2 hoos and it had big gaps whr the lights pop up... it was just made for our cars....

Speed88 Thanks,

I'm carbed so I don't have to work with that. I just cut out behind behind the nostrils to get fresh air thru.

Otherwise the hood is designed to flow to the pass. front fender where the stock air cleaner box would be.

When I bought my hood from ASCD it came with the RAM AIR decals. They were silver, and luckally they match the rest of my stuff perfectlly.

Best place to get a Ram Air II Hood?

Where is the best place to get a Ram Air II hood??? I have looked at GT Auto and Hawks Third Gen Parts but I'm not quite into paying $550. I've also checked eBay but they are extremely rare. Does anyone out there know of where to get one for cheaper??? Is anyone willing/wanting to sell theirs???? I will pay good money for it!!!! Thanks!!!

Steve

I bought mine from US Body source. It was a rip! They cost like $600 and I had to wait a month cause of back order. The ram Air is not made to be functional or at least not easily or well thought out. The fiberglass work was crap and it took alot of bondo and sanding to get it flat. There is no spot for the tension spring or weather strip. You have to fabricate your own screens for the openings.

I would suggest a ASCD Ram Air hood. It does not look as good but they are made to be functional at least. Plus they sell a kit for it.
BTW. My car is dark purple. :nono:

I dont remember where i was.. but i found the hood.. You could pay a certain amount for the hood as it is.. sanded and primered ready to be painted.. But you could also pay i think $150 more and they will cut and screen the nostrils for you.. not to mention ship you a functional box w/ a K&N Filter in it.. I think it ran about $600.. i'll find the site later and post it.. oh yah it came with 2 Ram-Air decals too
