I polished my runners yesterday, I polished them while they were still on the car since I didnt have the proper tools to remove them , but they came out pretty darn good for now, I will be taking them off as soon as I get the tools so I can give them the true mirror shine I desire!

how hard was it to polish them while still installed, i've always wanted to do it but just figured it'd be too hard unless i took them out and i do'nt have the knowhow to do that

nikh:

Lets just say I ripped my thumb open on a piece of metal while I was doing one side

Thats why the passenger side ones look a bit less shinier than the driver side ones\.

They took me about 3-5 hours all together while they were on the car, I unhooked every wire that was in the way including the injector plugs, that freed up a good amount of space to get to them, you cannot get them 100% detailed unless you take them off, but you can polish and clean the visible parts .

I used very fine steel wool at first, then my bluemagic aluminum & mag plish to add the finishing touch, I dont use mothers, I like magic more, it just takes a grip of patience, dedication, and well, patience lol.

p.s. can you see my polished heater core LOL.

thanks for the compliments guys, I really appreciate them.

I am planning on taking them off next weekend and finishing the job, I am also thinking about taking on the job of polishing the plenum the same weekend, or as soon as my thumb gets better.

Got any tips?
I started my plenum polish last night, but I started with the plenum extension first. Are you following the instructions in the tech forums, or have you a secret I am unaware of. This is time consuming, but I am willing to work for results... any tips you have would be appreciated.
