first time waxing car
Hi everyone, I am going to wax my car for the first time in a few days and would like to know which wax or waxing package is the best. The paint is only a year old so its in pretty good condition. Thanks

I'd say get a clay bar. Then I like the Meguiar's Step 1-3 wax system. Then maybe finish with some Gold Class by Megs.

I have never used a clay bar before so I cannot recommend it, but I have heard good things,
I use the Megiaurs 1-3 step, but I actually just use step 1 and 2, then I finish up with my Meguairs gold class as step no. 3.
Take your time when you do this and it will come out looking awesome!

First off, before you begin, wash the car with Dawn to remove old wax. And be sure the surface is completely wet with the clay bar.
Step 1- Is the cleaner wax, which will get the contaminants off the paint similar to the clay bar but different.
Step 2- Is a polish, but in wax form
Step 3- is Carnuba Wax, solely for protection.

You don't use any pressure. You just glide the bar over the paint back and forth. You'll hear a gritty sound, that's good, that's the contaminants coming off, as the sound goes away move on the next spot. I used the Mothers Clay Bar with Polish as the lubricant.
I just picked up some eagle one Wax as u dry. It's alright when you don't have the time but it still doesn't leave a shine like when you hand wax. It's still pretty good for in between waxes to keep it looking shiny though.
I was a big fan of the professional Meguires products for years and I think they are very good.
If you want the next level of polish try Duragloss or if money is not an object try Zaino. Have been showing cars for MANY years and the two products I just mentioned are the best I have found and they are very easy to use. Both of these products will not leave residue, dust or leave marks on rubber and vinyl trim. You can polish right over your decals with Duragloss and Zaino.
Clay bars are very good like the others have said and I only use USA made 100% cotton towels when removing the polish. Anything else may leave swirl marks.
This is my paint with Zaino.

i have ziano, but if ind it doest like my older paint. When i repaint the car, it will be zaino 100% of the time, unless this forumal 113 stuff comes through even better.

Yours seems ok Scott. It's not really the size of them I think too much, as most are ok, it's just posting it like 3 or 4 times takes time.
