shaving antenna
shaving antenna
what does it take to shave the antenna on an 89 GTA ? i tried to unscrew the telescoping antenna so i could start pulling off the little disc on the fender line but it wouldn't unscrew .... supposedly you have to get INSIDE the fender to rip it out ?!?!

You would want to work on the inside of the fender anyway to properly fill the hole in that the antenna leaves, so why not just get another power antenna?

The whole point of shaving the antenna is to get rid of it so it doesnt ruin the lines of the car. Replacing the stock antenna with a power one doesnt really do that because you still have a hole and soem kind of plastic bezel around the antenna. I'm not sure EXACTLY how to do it, but it'd probably be best to remove the fender and maybe weld a piece of metal behind it, then fill the rest with bondo and sand it smoothe, then repaint. I've seen/heard about antennas that go around your windshield, but I'm not exactly sure where you would get one. I've heard that they dont get that great of reception, too
I guess when I do this I'll just have to burn more CDs
Although, by the time I get around to do it, CDs will probably be obsolete, lol.

Not to be rude, but usually people usually use puntuation.

You can buy cheap *** steel mesh with adhesive on it from anywhere glue it to the back side of the fender then fill it in with bondo if you want to do it the elcheapo way.
