:hail: To the 88 sport coupe! (see my sig)

I like the addition of the IROC wheels, Z hood, and bird steering wheel. What do you think about the mini-wing? Since only 1st half of 1988 Non-Irocs got them, do you like having a rare wing or do you plan on changing it?

I kinda like that wing. it looks good from some angles but there are a couple that it doesn't. I can't decide if I want to change it, if I do it will be a 91 Z28 wing, but then I might change the hood to an SS hood. but I like it the way it is. I think I am just going to put the 350 vortec in it and people will think it is stock, that is the best way to go. I think I am going to paint the car all white, do you like the gray on the bottom of yours?

I kinda like the 2 tone grey, but a white car looks better all white IMO. I've stood next to a soild gunmetal grey RS before though and liked it better, so I dunno. Maybe someday I'll put on 91-92 GFX and have them painted to match the body, but I don't have the $$ to be spending on things like that right now. I definately want the 91-92 Z-wing, I really like how it looks from any side angle, but ours, like you said, looks cool from some and weird from others. I'm planning a new motor as well, "yep, thats just the stock 305 with headers and an edelbrock intake."

Desktop dyno tells me it'll be about 295 HP..... but it'll look stock. Can't tell from the outside!

I would like to find some 91-92 GFX but the ones that I have seen are a lot of money. But then if I put those on I would look like my brothers car. I think maybe just the spoiler would be good....and maybe the hood if i have the money. I do want 17" chrome iroc wheels.

ALL HAIL THE MIGHTY '88 SC!!!

Dude, that is a SWEEEEET 88 SC just look at my signature and know why I am so happy to finally find another 88 SC owner around here!

I hafta say I love the look of the IROC hood on your car. Has anyone ever given ya heck cuz you only have an SC, but you put an IROC hood on? I can get one for $25 in awesome shape, and I just wanted to know before I went out and spent the cash for the hood and got it painted for my car.

Anyway, again, koodos to ya for having such a nice SC. I hafta say, I don't think there are many 88 SC's still floating around with t tops. As far as I know, I have one of the only two I've seen in my area. So maybe t tops on those cars were a rare option? oh well.

Anyway, everyone else, and jordanz28ss, click the link below to be taken to my album on yahoo! with some pics of my own 1988 SC in all its glory hehe.

Hey man nice car!
I would go right ahead and put the IROC hood on your car. It will look a lot better. Everyone tells me that they like that hood better. I bought the car like that and evey one thinks it's an iroc but it's not, its cheeper on insurance though. I am not sure if T-tops are rare on these cars, my bro had an 88 v6 with them, (that we rolled) and survived without a scratch. My mothers first car was a 71 sport coupe that she still has. Hey man if you ever run at New England drag way I might see ya down there. lata

thanks

hey thanks for the compliment on my car

wow..you guys rolled in a t top car and lived? that's just proof that our cars are tanks

anyway, it's cool that your mom still has her 71 sport coupe. does yours and your mom's have any similarities between the two? other than that fact that they're both sport coupes?

it's freaky how many similarities me and my mom have between our cars...hers is a 1968..mine is a 1988...hers is the bottom-of-the-line sport coupe with little extra features..my only extra features are t tops and the ERS sound system..hers is still a stock v6..mine is still a stock v8 (both our engines are stock)
BUT the coolest thing between our cars, is that hers was built in May of 1968...and mine was built in May of 1988!

and as to the hood..i think i'll do it if i can get a good price on painting it up and stuff to match my car. then, i wanna get custom IROC-SC door decals made.

keep cruisin in that 88!
