Best Wax I've Ever Used, 113!!!!!

Finally got my free sample. That stuff is awesome. I've gotten the rest of the car's color to match the shineyness (is that a word?) of the hood. The front gfx even have some shine to them, never had before. The overall color of the car is brighter now too. I only used the wax, haven't tried the Bead X yet. There is about 5 pics, so I'll post them now.

Mark was there enough in your sample pack to do your whole car? I'm ordering me some but want to try the sample first and don't want to end up with just enough to do like one door or something. And how was the use of the product?

I probably have enought to do the car again. The Bead X says you can do a whole car with only 1 oz. It was very easy to use and take off, I always though Meguiars was easy to take off but left that white residue/flaky stuff behind.

i found that the formula113 to not be very user friendly for me, it was hard to apply and remove. but it really does do a good job and i will be using it again.

It applied like any other wax to me. I also use some kind of special cloth I bought at Wal-Mart, that has a texture that really grabs the wax off the paint. They were a bright flourescent color.

I just returned for the summer nationals in Worcster, Mass. I couldn't wait to get home and see what's going on, I have a lap top but I am so tired after a great show that I don't play with it on the road. Your cars look great and look wet.

I am glad every one is getting there samples and using them too.
Mark, I am glad you got yours, your z28 looks different then the pics in your sig. COOL RIGHT!

ENJOY THE SHINE

I got my samples a couple weeks ago but I haven't been able to touch it yet. It has rained every day since then and I haven't even washed my car in 2 weeks, so there's been no way to wax it. These pics really make me anxious to use it though!

the sample was enough for me to do 3 whole thirdgens, and i still have some left, it might be just enough to do 1 car. ive foudn that applying thinly (liek zaino) works best for me. stuff goes on very easy, and wipes off very easy to boot.

Did any of you use polish before you waxed the car? I heard a mothers rep speak one time and he said you should always polish before you wax. I must admit though, seems like that formula113 works great.

no polish, just a dawn wash (wanted to see it work on bare paint). if i were meguiring i would have used 2-3 coats of showcar glaze then gold class on top of it. but fawk that, this is way better with just one coat.

I used it all on one use for my car... you must have put it pretty damn thin. Looks good though!

Haven't recieved my sample yet. I'm mainly wanting it due to swirls, my car shines fine, but it's beginnging to show swirls. I'll be amazed if it pulls them out and keeps them out.

I used Dawn too, like Custom X said, I wanted to be sure there was no wax left on the car. I didn't use polish first either.

I think he's still offering it. But I think some bottle containers were on back order. Just email him speedwax@aol.com and mention free sample from thirdgen.org . Or you can just go to the website and order it, I highly recommend it, it'll cost $35 for the wax and bead x, but you'll get many uses out of it.

YEah I found a sample. You only pay the 5 on shipping. Say how much of that 12oz bottle covers the car? I hear you dont need all that much.

Mark, sorry but I snickered when I saw your lack of louvers. I just remember the story, and how stuff keeps flying off your car.

wow mark... I would would say 113 blew the shorts off of the other waxs you have tried. Your car looks like it is almost 1 color.

I am pissed I have still not been able to try it. I was so busy over the past week that I hadnt had a chance to do anything with my car. I just need to take a day off work sometime. Thats the only way I can get anything done.

It took my swirls out and they didn't even come out after 3M Rubbing Compound and Swirl Mark Remover.

Yeah Twist, that's what I think impressed me the most about that wax, is that the rest of my color seems to match the hood now, which has always been brighter and shinier than the rest of the car.

I wanted to see what it'd do for swirls

Hey guy,
I think that you can only get it through the web site unless you happen across someone selling it at a car show or something - someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Congrats on the purchase. These cars are a blast. Make sure that you post some pics and your plans!

Later,

Ya i will, just waiting on a chance to really shine that car, already done a wash, but the pics i took were kinda bad. Its all about position of the light, i took the pic with sun behind the car, bad idea, takes away the color and look of the car.
Next time i'll taking it from the rear, that way all the light shines on the car, instead on the camera lens.

Well for now i'm gonna get some wax at store, i mean, if i try that 113 formula, i gotta compare to something right?

Anyways, other than the 113, whats the best wax i can get at a auto store?

I have always had great experience with Meguiars products. Their three step system (cleaner, polish, wax) would do you good.

You can also search the boards - the appearance board is full of posts on peoples favorite waxes. Have a good time.

Ok thanks man. I hear alot of good stuff for Meguiars, gonna get that tomorrow, and hopefully this weekend i;ll polish and wax, and get some pics too

This will be the first time i do a full polish, wax detail, hope i do good. :sillylol:

Later

P.S. What wax are u using in those pics on your red GTA? I'm guessing 113 right, since this thread is on that product.

Yes. This was posted after I tried my sample of Formula 113.

IROCThe5.7L - The stuff is called 'Formula113'. Do a search on posts by 'Michael Prisco' to get the scoop. The website provided with the samples is www.formula113.com

To Michael Prisco,

I tried the 113 on my hood a week ago after I applied the Meguire's Gold Class a day earlier. I had problems removing all traces of the 113. It kept leaving a hazy streak that smeared. I drove the car 1500 miles this week to Camaro Superfest and home, picked up road grime both ways, caught in a heavy rain in Wisconsin and had bugs all over the car. My only cleaning at Superfest was Meguire's detail spray. My car looked good. I washed it last night because of the rain on my trip home and noticed the not-so-slick feeling of the Meguire's finish. This has never really been an issue since I never wash the car!

Fast forward to today. I tried the 113 again on the whole car. I had no problem with the streaking or smearing. I had more dust left on the car from my towel than I had from the 113. My car looks awesome and I think I figured out the difference. Last week we were in the 90's with high humidity, today was 75 and low humidity. Easy on - Easy off and an excellent finish.
