I think 3M makes a window polish that you could use. It *should* work.

same thing here... I have water spots on the windows that will not go away no matter how many times I wash them. Think some Meguire's Scratch X would take them out?

On the paint? What do you want swirl marks? Dont do that! Water spots huh.. You sure thats not from acid rain or something. Well what you should do on the paint is try to buff it out. Well if you do that swirl marks may appear if you use the buffing compound with abbrasives. Try and find some with out the abbrasives and I'm almost sure this will solve the issue.

I type to fast for my own good. Kinda looked like black paint for a second there. These windows have some kinda coating on them right. You know so you dont get all cut up when you head hits it in a car wreck. That is most likly what is damaged. I would still try and buff it. Cant do much harm.

No, the windows are a tempered laminate. It goes like this:

:::::GLASS:::::::
----PLASTIC------
:::::GLASS:::::::

there is nothing you can scratch on the inside or outside except the glass itself. I'm going to try the Scratch X here in a few hours so I will let you all know how it goes.

Try a claybar. It should remove the spots.

Oh, and the glass/plastic/glass is only on the windshield. The side windows are tinted glass and will shatter very easily into many small pieces. The plastic in the windshield keeps the glass from flying all over should it break while driving. The sides and rear will go everywhere when they break.

the rear goes everywhere & beyond when it shaters... i should know.. & the sides... ive seen to many in the yards that are wasted becase they dont hold together.. but 90% of the windshields are shatered, but intact....

try to find a product called bio-clean. i used it on my girlfriends car and it was worse off than yours. works 10 times better than steel wool.(i tried that also) i dont know if it is a nation product or not. i know that we sell it at my work and thats about it. but i promise you that this will do the job. ( at my work it costs like $15 so be prepared)

So how did this turn out? Sorry to bring it back from the dead, but I'm interested in removing the water spots from the windows of both my 3rd gens. Did the steel wool thing work? How about the other products you guys tried?

seriously, try a clay bar. Those things will take anything off paint. It should work just as well on the windows.
