How to fix this ???

What can I do to repair the black trim and exactly what do I use and how do I do it?

Thanks! Oh, sorry about the tiny flaw in the paint, I'll get that out

Perhaps you could remove it, sand the paint off and repaint?

That's what I'm thinking. Remove the hatch, remove the spoiler, sand down all of the paint and repaint. But what grit paper so I use? EXACTLY what paint do I use and where can I get it? Do I need to primar or anything before I repaint?

well i would think like some paper course enough to get the paint off and then a fine one to smooth it out, then primer it and then paint it..

i think when you are working with metal you need to prime it first so the paint will stick better..

Engine: 383 stroker
Transmission: 700R4 3500 stall, TransGo shift kit
Axle/Gears: Moser 9", 4.11:1
I repainted the hatch strip on my 92 RS, looked much better. I didn't remove the hatch. I just sanded it down to the metal (be careful not to scrape the paint on the car). Then I masked off the car, primered it with automotive spray primer and let dry. I put 2 coats primer on, sanded it lightly, then painted it with black Rustoleum. 3 coats of that and it looked perfect for 3 months until I sold the car. I don't know how it has held up, I haven't seen it since.

Yeah as above, Leave it on and do it, I would put some "LOW TACK" masking tape on your car before sanding just in case you scratch you paint or glass with the s/paper.

You can repaint it, but you could also just buy new trim. Most body shops can get it.

on my cars, I just used masking tape to mask off the glass and paint, then I sanded with some sandpaper by hand, and used some spray paint...looks as good as new

I sanded mine, taped it off, and repainted it with Black Rustoleum, and 3 years later its still looking great!
