What color do you think I should paint this car? It was originally a dark blue, which I like, but I was leaning toward an orange color or something like that.
check out some of the choices that HOUSE OF KOLORS has. They have some cool looking orange colors. Maybe tangelo

That car would look good with a cowl hood (course I don't really like the "turbo" or "daytona" hoods or whatever they're called)
I like those rims.
Color...hmm..hard to say. Just about any color will look good if done right. Ever think of a Corvette yellow?
I always liked bright red and deep blue standard Camaro colors, but there are quite a few of those around...

I also think you should change the hood....and I dont like the rims.
Mult 68, thanks for the paint jobs. I am new to photoshop and would like to know how you did that. I tried the bucket fill tool and it never looks right and is usually not in the lines. Any help would be great.
I did think about yellow, but not sure how it would look. It would have to be bright, because I think that the dull yellow is ugly. I think I will keep the hood, although I would like to find something to put behind those vents. I would probably trade the rims for some 16" iroc wheels, not sure about them yet. Feel free to edit my car as you see fit. later

There are many ways to do color changes....but here is how I do it....
first you need to make a selection of the parts of the car you want to change....this means just the body...no background, glass, door handles, door locks, tires, exhaust, headlights, taillights, side markers, etc....a lot of people use the selection tool....I hate doing it this way...instead I use channels...its a LOT more precise....
Open up the picture in photoshop....then go to Window Show Channels (if its not already open)...
You should see 4 layers: RGB, Red, Green, and Blue......pick either red, green ,or blue...and drag it to the new channel icon to duplicate it (or right click and go to duplicate channel)....now you should be on the new channel...go to edit > Fill...and fill with solid black. now click on the RGB hide/show icon....you should now see your picture with a slight red tint over it. Click on the channel you created...picture should remain the same....get your paintbrush...and make sure you have white selected as your color...and go over your car with it (doesnt have to be neat)...make sure you get a little of the background as well. Now take your black paintbrush...and very carefully go back and take out the background and anything you dont need. Gradually you will see clearly the parts you want...and the parts you dont want should remain with the slight red tint. If you hide the other channels and view just the channel youre working on...youll see the black background with the areas you want selected in white. Do this as best you can. When you are finally done (this will take a while)....drag the channel youre working on to the far left icon on the channel palette...it should be called "load channel as selection" what this does is puts and outline around everything that is white...and ignores everything that is black. Now turn your RGB channel layer on...and the channel you were working on off. Go back to your layers palette. You should now have a dotted flashing line around the body of the car you wantt o change. Now all you gotta do is go to Image > Adjust > Hue/Saturation. Here a window will pop up. Make sure the "Colorize" button is checked. Now all you gotta do is play with the sliding bars to get the color you want. Let me know if you need any more explaining...i just typed it out as fast as i could.

Thanks for the instructions. I already did a couple of colors just to learn how on a small picture and your instructions were great. I really liked using the layers to make the selection. That's a lot easier than fighting with the selection tool.
