Rear spoiler

My aero spoiler has gouges all over it. Is there anyway to remove them?

ummm, you need to get it blasted, and re-painted, thats what i had to do with mine, yours is the rubber one? im sure it is, it crack's E-Z,..... When you re-paint it you need to mix a rubber agent with the paint, so it can move with out cracking (FLEX) and make sure no one sits on it, my friend sat on mine and his face looks like your wing now

spoiler

Yes it's rubber. I can't believe some people can be ignorant enough to sit on your car! Epecially when it has fresh paint!
Someone had caved in one of my hood louvers a few weeks back.
It had to be from someones fat ***, how else would it have gotten there? It's been since then.
As for the spoiler? When i got it back from the paint shop, they said nothing could be done with the spoiler.

The paint is not cracked, the gouges (spellcheck) are under the paint. Believe it or not, the paint isn't cracked at all.

Has anyone repaired their gouged spoiler?
How'd it hold up?

You can sand that stuff out and repaint it.

In 6 months you can do it again. And again. And again.

Or you can pitch that POS and get a fiberglass one from GTAuto and have it outlast the rest of your car.

like "89Irocz23" said,... now that all 4 bolts are off, now its time for the trickE part, you have to push the spoler up (TRY NOT TO BRAKE THE CLIPS THAT GO AROUND THE WINDOW) and off she comes (but watch out if it has a 3rd brake lite"wires, just clip them, then splice them back together when the spolers going back on) the same way you take it off is the same way you put it back on

Makai, try some bondo see if that would work, or something like a filler with a rubber agent in it that way it can flex with out crecking the paint, it wouldnt hurt to try, and "Jim85IROC" is right get a fiberglass one, but see what you can do first

Jim's dead on ***** accurate - don't waste your time. Spend your time replacing it with a fiberglass one.

I'm getting a fibreglass aerowing put on my car right now, since it's already in the body shop for fresh paint and rust repair. I'm looking forward to this...

It sure is a lot lighter than the stock one. Yeah that's what I need, a lighter rear end.

Ok, ok, ok, so I should replace the gouged spoiler instead of repairing it. I heard you guys! Now which one would you's recommend? It's a 1986 WS4-WS6 TA/Firebird. And please post the names of them as well as pix of what your talking about, so I know what I'm asking for.

Thanx guys:hail:
