No, I understood that you said no to those foglights, but in your in original question, are you referring to the headlights or the fog lights that you want to be bright??

If you're talking about the headlights, get the bright whites from Sylvania. I have them on my car and they're really nice; much better than the regular halogens. If your talking about fog lights, just go with Pilots of some kind, most of them are bright as hell....some are blue, and some are white though.....your choice.

I was talking about the headlights. There isn't anything brighter than the sylvania's? Anything this bright? Or at least close?

Yeah, I think they'er called Ice Blues, but I'm not sure if they make one for our cars. I ususally see them only as the bulbs themselves, like for German imports. The Sylvania XtraVision/ Hot Whites are pretty bright.

I bought a conversion set to H4 on ebay. They are crystal clear and have bluish tinted bulbs in at the time, but I'll be switching to regular white as I think the blue shows up too much when the lights are off.

Dammit ChevyKen! I was the high bidder on a set of those last year and the seller wouldn't contact me after several emails. I wanted those on my car sooo bad. And now that I see the results I am really pissed at that Ebay seller

Anyhow you got a sweet IROC from what I see. Can you post a few more pics of it? I want to see the side view and the wheels you got.

Thanks guys!

Topless91RS,
I got my kits from:
Initial K Auto Concepts, Inc.
Attn: ELempire
P.O. Box 465
Walnut, CA 91788-0465

You can also try to email them at: elempire668@aol.com

IROC57TPI,
Gotta luv non-serious ebay'ers.. :/
However, try to contact the company above, they might be able to help.

Yeah, I have some pics LOL If you do a search on my name you should find a wide variety - but here are a few that were taken last weekend that have not been posted before (I'll just link them since they are fairly big and also kinda off topic):

Search the Electrical Forum for 'HID' and I made a little post about the differences between a H4 kit and a retrofitted true HID kit. Its actually more possible than you might think. Good luck with the H4 conversion. My recommendation is that you go with the lowest wattage bulbs you can find. Or if you do get high wattage bulbs be sure to do the math and make sure the electrical system can handle it.

Thanks Ken for the info, how hard was the conversion?? Did you have to change the wiring or did it use the stock wiring. I'm going to e-mail the company but I wanted to get your input from someone who has done it on their thirdgen, thanks for the help!

Topless,
The wire adaptor was a part of the kit that I bought, as were the blue tinted bulbs. So, the wire part was "plug and play".
However, the metal "sockets" that the lights are mounted in (the ones that the black frame that clamps the light is fastened to) - needed some slight modification on mine. The back of the H4 lights are a little bigger so the opening in the back of the sockets weren't quite large enough. A little cutting with a grinder or similar will do the job in no time..

Ken, how much did you pay for those headlamp housings? What wattage bulbs are you using in them?

For those who don't plan on running 80+ watt bulbs APC makes a 14gauge 'heavy dudy' wiring harness. Well, maybe you can run higher then 80 with 14gauge, I'm not very electrically inclined. It's a good alternative to making your own, if the cost of parts is too great for you or your feeling lazy. A bit of warning however, it's wired for H4 bulbs, you'll have to rewire the low connectors & trigger pins if you want to use them on directly on H4656/H4651 lamps. But if your just using them as an upgrade harness with sealed beam conversion H4/H1s, you just need to rewire the trigger pins.

I just installed the APC/SUVlights.com HD harness on my Elky and I'm very impressed with the out come. My highs&low/highs are much brighter, thou my low/lows do not seem noticeably brighter. With that said, it should be noted I did not attempt to clean my old connectors up beforehand.

BTW there is a street legal HID kit, it's made by Osram-Sylvania, the Zenarc HID system, X4656. Check out this retro fit done to a Delorean http://www.boom.net/~aos/delorean/xenarc/

I have the Sylvania CoolBlue sealed beam headlights in my car and they only have a SLIGHT blue tint, but they are definately a brighter white then normal. I love those lights on that 4th gen Camaro!! I wanna know what kinda lights those are!!

No, I don't know of any other sites detailing the install, period. However that is the same kit a 3rdgen Camaro would use, X4656. BTW Sylvania now sells the Xenarc x4656 kit for 600. http://www.sylvania.com/xenarc/

BTW on Yahoo look up keywords OEM HID Retrofit or HID Retrofit. You'll find a couple sites with custom installs, info, etc.

I've got Polarg H4s and I love em. I tried Piaa superwhites and Nokyas also, but I wan't happy with the light distribution. The Polargs have a nice purple tint (not ***** though). People always ask me if I have HIDs. The Hella houseings and custom harnesses made all the difference.
