Don't laugh at this! Flames ahoy!

Hi all!
Decided to mess around with my valve covers while I wait for my replacement carb to arrive fron carbsunlimited! Didn't want chrome ones-got them on my other camaro (and every other car I have owned!).

So, since the exterior job will be similar (see RS Camaro website in sig), and it was a sunny day (and I had a couple of spare hours-very rare!!), I decided to throw together this! I think it looks good! Neighbours aren't quite so sure, but all the local kids think it is great!! Bear in mind this is in the UK, so just seeing a third gen is unique, never mind a custom third gen! I'll do the other cover tomorrow!

My Wife says I have my priorities wrong. The brakes need rebuilding on all 4 corners since it hasn't turned a wheel under it's own power for about a year and a half! So, it was either get down and mucky, or enjoy myself with some flames!!

What do all you lot think??! Keep them or what? The valve covers are the standard stamped metal ones from a 1977 Chevy truck that donated it's 350 powerplant for this car.

Andy.

It's not my style but, I would keep them none the less. I like anything in the engine compartment that is not black. Makes it more enjoyable to work in the engine bay.

Took about 2 hours ish (after the covers were gritblasted first). Normal aerosol cans for this-no airbrushes! Do you call them spray bombs in the States?!
BUT, I have had to do 2 days DIY in the house to earn that time!!

uk89camaro;
I may just be selling it next summer! Flames paintjob in the spring and I will see how it goes. I'll let you know! I really fancy a convertible thirdgen now, so I may have to sell off both camaros and then dive straight back into the market. Can't do without an American sports car now!

It's alright for those in the good old USA isn't it uk89camaro? They can pop down to the local store and buy all the parts they want straightaway! We have to order and wait and wait and wait for the boat to arrive on our shores with our parts!! The grass must be a lot greener on their side of the pond!!

Yeah it's great unless you have a 2.8l. We have to find scarce parts for the motor. It is really great that in America that we have the oppertunity to find a part we need quickly at almost anytime of the day. There is like an Autozone or PepBoys within walking distance. Sometimes I don't know about the quality though. I bet you don't see too many variations of the Fbodys over in the UK?
