how do i trim a Cowl Hood???

how do i trim a Cowl Hood???

i have a 4 inch Cowl Hood from Harwood its fiberglass

how in the world do i trim off the access so it fits the car?

any way you want! Sand it with a die grinder, cut it with a high speed rotary tool, hand sand it, whatever. I drew a line, then used a high speed rotary tool to cut along the line. I cleaned it up a little bit with some sand paper. If you're not good enough to cut it nice and straight along the line, just leave a little extra and plan on block sanding it by hand to get it flat.

why wouldnt they just make it so that it has minimal modding to get on our cars...

like i mean...geez...is nt that what we're paying for?

That costs more money and and personally I like the fact that they leave some extra material due to the fact that you can fit it the way you like it.
but for those who don't wanna do that then it is a PITA and alot of extra work.

no along the sides and the cowl itself need to be trimmed so the wiper blades can go up and down

The hoods come with the extra edge because without it, it would get destroyed during shipping. It's there so you get a good hood.
