I hate my dial up connection!!! its just so slow!!!
I searched for ages for a flag but only could download a tiny one that had poor resolution, I'd luv to find one thats sorta blowin in a breeze.
speaking of breezes & wind etc
You guys have weather **** on ya barns don't ya ?
cos we had weather f###ies but the wind would just blow straight through them. lol

jacko, we all gotta start somewhere sometime, but I have to say I dont think your current wallpaper looks that bad at all, I liked both the flames and the textured background, only thing is you need to try and shrink the size of the image so it does not take so long especially over a dialup (I have cable and now I am spoiled), the best way to learn anything is to make a million mistakes, and most importantly, do not get discouraged if you cannot create the image you have in your head, just keep trying chances are you will hit on something you like even more and eventually you will find that it gets much easier to create the image you have in your head.
The best thing you can learn in photoshop is to learn how to use selections, this will get you farther quicker, this will help you isolate portions of an image that you want to modify. And use lots of layers.
As far as a checkered flag goes, try searching for races, or even corvettes and simply crop out the rest of the corvette logo. Just an idea.
Here, I just whipped this one out, went to the Corvette club of America site and copied their banner image, opened that up in PSP, then selected the checkered flag in the center of the image, copied it and pasted it a dozen times and arranged them all to look like a whipping flag and copied that and pasted it over and over until it filled up the 100x100 px sized space (changed canvas size), now you can tile this image to create a full background.

Yeah millions of mistakes well I've done that!! mmm maybe I'm slowly getting the hang of it?
I found some flags but when I loaded them up they looked crap, guess I'll keep trying
