Well, I really have no idea how third gens will turn out. They will be rare, most of em will be rotted out in junkyards though.
Maybe I'll have found a cure for cancer by then.

50 years from now I think what we'll see is a new trend.
Our grandkids will be on a board, well whatever they'll have by then, and probably enjoying there cars and talking about them, how much they love them, mod them, etc. It will be completely different from us, but we will share the same thing, when we were young we had vehicles we loved, and they will too.
As for a thirdgen in 50 years, possible, but its going to be very rare to see. So soon when I seen a third gen, it will be like seeing a 57 chevy now, or a GTO judge, rare, but you know work has gone into it, and your respect for it is high.

Ya guys say thirdgens will be rare in the future - well count me in as one of the few who will still drive one on a regular basis - assuming that there will be fuel for my engine to burn. If I can't find fuel, then I will do an engine swap for one those quad turbo LS69s like CrazyHawaiian mentioned.

i don't know, it has me wondering. i think that i am still going to have a thirdgen 25 years from now. i don't know if it'll be my current car, though. just have to see.
50 years from now, i'll be 70. i'm trying not to think that far ahead.

Well lets see the car is 21 years old now (bought in 81) I would like to think after all the rebuilding it will be good for another 25.. after then who knows... could end up like a '50 ford I know of, sitting in a garage waiting for a rebuild..
Probably our kids will be on the 9th gen board (assuming fbodies are produced again) talking about how to retrofit the new fuel cell mod while we gum our food and talk about the good old days of 92 octane and internal combustion..

Man I will be 78...I will probably be buried in my car. The family joke! Well if health car has advanced enough and I'm still around I will have RAIF. I swear I will never part with him. So far I have had him since 89 and still drive him everyday, so why not.
25 years....Me at 53...By then I will definately have the 2.8 outa there. :sillylol: I could see me still be driving him and all my other 3rd gens (that I'm sure I will collect). Actually, I might be getting a bare 3rd gen body in the next few days. Could be my future EVO car. Maybe I will have it and the Scout perfected by then!
