So what mods does everyone have planned for the winter
Pretty much what the subject says. Is anyone doing any ext/int/engine mods to ther car while it is away for the long winter sleep. I am hoping to get my hands on an lt1 w/ t-56 and swaping it into my 85Z. Should be a fun time

Well, I have to drive my car during the winter, but all I will be using it for is running errands and such. I plan on cleaning it out. I have not cleaned my car since August.

Im hoping to get a larger throttle body, but i doubt it..maybe a high flow cat?. Paint for the front is coming again in the spring ..cuz my dumb @$$ messed it up again..soo pissed. Hopin to get the system done first and then put more into performance. Still need 2 subs, cap, dynomat, and wires.

T56 with Spec stg 3 clutch
spohn torque arm
aluminum driveshaft
Edelbrock RPM AIR GAP intake
Speed Demon 750 carb
Jongbloed hood
new GM front nose piece (one on there now is a repro, and it SUCKS)
Gonna cut and Buff the whole car again
Thats about it for the winter, for the Z anyway. The stang is gettin a cam, a tranny rebuild, a torque converter, and a Detroit lokar with 3.55 gears. That oughta be interesting....
no plans for the 85 over winter. Hopefully i'll be able to dive into that thing hard in the spring.

Well I have all the parts except the intake, so I still am up in the air on that- either a ramjet or a TPI Vortec base with the following combo:
Vortec iron heads (worked for bigger springs, etc.)
ZZ3 cam
custom headers
24lb. injectors
subframe connectors
alum. driveshaft
custom programming
and i need an idea of some wheels to get. I am looking at the Cragar SS's in 17x8 and 17x9 (or 10 if they make 'em)
Any ideas or comments welcomed.

Hmm...where to start. Im currently refinishing my rims at the moment. After that then im going to get some new OEM stuff for the interior(headliner, shift plate, floor mats ect. Im going to get some nice valve covers, with felpro gaskets. I want to get some taylor 8mm wires and get new spark plugs. New waterpump and serpentine belt. Im looking into a hooker muffler with tips like mark shields has on his....but not totally sure i want to get it yet. Im also looking at getting a fan switch for my dual fan setup. Cause i already have a 160' t-stat, with a custom Ram air cold air induction setup. and the list keeps going..lol....i will post a pic of my baby once im done that is for sure!

I want to redo my whole suspension.
I am going to remove my sway bars and wire wheel them then use
a good coating to refinish them. I am still up in the air on what to
use for the best results so if anyone has any pointers let me know.
Then I will replace the bushings will polyurethane pieces.
I am going to rebuild the rear suspension with spohn adjustable
lower control arms and pan hard rod. This will get me ready for
the eibach prokit springs and KYB struts and shocks. I will also
hopefully be adding some spohn subframe connectors.

My next project will be swapping a L98 into my 90 RS with a L03. I dont know if I will finish it by winter tho ... while I have the engine out I will be gutting the car and repainting everything (even engine bay). And since the interior will be stripped out, I want to swap the 4th gen T/A interior in. I call it the neverending project.

The mods i got planned over the ice age are:
- Headers
- True Dual exhaust
- Cowl Induction hood (2.25" - 3" tall)
- Higher compression heads (dunno which yet, something to get 9.5-10:1 comp.)
- New paintjob/decals (stock replacement)
- Black headlight covers (*maybe*, and for a Z28)
This is what is planned for the car for now.. although i will probably not get all of this done in one winter because of money (or a lack of).

i can play.
i just received my die grinder today. i'll be doing headwork over the winter, may have my 305 heads cut for 1.94 valves, get them tanked, new valves, springs, seals, some pocket porting, etc.
i'll be pulling the engine, possibly doing a cam swap.
new intake and carb
i'd like to replace the clutch while i'm in there. change the fluids in the tranny and rear differential over to synthetics, and add a better rear axle cover. i still have the 166k mile stocker on it.
was planning on re-wiring the car, but i have decided to hold off on that. i'm just going to trace through the wiring, and repair any bad spots i find.
i think instead of the wiring, i'll do some suspension mods. :rubrub: to steve. i'm thinking rear lower control arms, and a panhard rod. i might get a new set of springs for all four corners. who makes good springs? i want to maybe lower the car an inch, so i'm thinking an iroc spring would work well for me.

I'm going to be giving Spohn alot of my money. I plan on lower control arms, relocation brackets, panhard bar, new torque arm, rear shocks, struts, and of course subframe connectors. Time to cash in all the favors I've done for the guys in the bodyshop where I work. I'm thinking a flip-flop paint job with a dark, dark, purple and black. I am also getting everything I need to burn chips, so as soon as spring gets here I can have my ride tuned and ready to eat rice and $hit Fords.

Strip my car to the bare unibody (85 TA)
weld in SFCs
Weld in rollbar
clean and paint underside
add PA K-member, coilovers, tubular a-arms, rack
add Spohn LCAs, panhard, Moser 9", HAL shocks
Baer brakes
install fuel cell
run AN fuel lines, fab new brake lines
start on exterior bodywork
That should keep me busy enough, esp with my other projects going on, too.
