Steer clear of ANY car with a rebuilt title. There are ways to "wash" titles of cars to keep the car fax type reports from showing up.

If it does come up with something other than flood damage, then thouroghly inspect the car for welds in places they should not be.

Some rebuilders will take a front end wrecked car and a rear ender, cut them in half and weld the good ends together.

 

The car is never going to be in the condition it was in before....

There is no way to tell the quality of the re-build job after it got into the accident......

Rebuilt cars can be done very right...it totally depends on who did it and what happened to the car. The car could have been stolen and stripped, nothing structurally wrong with it, and it would have a rebuilt title. Even if it was in a flood and everything that needed to be replaced was, what is the problem with that? Just look the car over very well before you buy it, there are alot of people out there that still think rebuilt cars are redone by some jacka$$ in his backyard...not true. You have to have a special permit to even buy these cars wrecked. I once owned a rebuilt 94 camaro, it was a great car, and when my little sister totalled it out, she and the car were fine. The car didn't break in half or any crazy **** like that. The above opinions have been formed by watching to much 20/20 or 60 minutes, you know the people who strapped explosives to the gas tank of 73-87 chevy pickup's to make the collisions more "dramatic" and had everyone thinking these trucks would explode if they ever got hit in the side. This is just another example of the media taking 1 or 2 cases and trying to make everyone look bad.

 

is the price that good of a deal to consider........

i have a gtp as my second car and i absolutely love it; but they are getting extremely cheap now. unless it's a great deal i would pass to save the hassle.

 

I'm not a fan of rebuild titled cars...

There usually a :nono: in my book...

 

I say if the price is really ridiculously cheap, go for it. Even if it's just for parts, it'll be worth it at the right price.
