when you're right, you're right
yeah the neons look amazing in real life, but in photo, the edges are harder, so they only seem to cover small patches of ground.
and yeah the wheels were pretty expensive. it works out to about 2 grand american, not including some $1600US tires which i managed to get for $660US

the front tube is mounted directly infront of the spoiler (hense the shadow under the car) and the rear is just strapped where it fit.
the whole thing is held up by zap-straps and i just noticed when i was taking the photos that a wire is hanging down! time for another strap methinks. :P

what kind of underbody lights did you use?
how much did they cost each? I take it you used 4 in total?
what exactly holds the light to the underbody?
what is the powersource and how did you get to the powersource?
i think it looks awesome and i'm going to put some blue ones on in a few weeks after seeing this post.

the all the lights are wired to a box (part of the kit) which is grounded and wired to the car's battery. a switch under my dash is wired to the box as well which allows me to turn the lights on and off with ease.
as i mentioned before, the lights are strapped to the car using zap straps. if you dont know what those are, they're the little plastic straps that are usually wrapped around the power chord of a piece of electronic equpment that you'd buy. you feed one end through the loop at the other end, and it only gets tighter.
im glad i've inspired you to get some of your own. i dont remember who made the kit, and i've long since thrown away the box. it was on sale for $199.99 CAN when i got it, but i didn't buy it.. it was an X-MAS present from a friend. the kit came with 4 bulbs (2 sides and 2 front/back bulbs), the control box, a switch, and some wiring.

I have thought about getting a kit. Looks nice, but I almost dont want to get blue now(I dont like having my car look just like someone elses, unless mine was first
). Maybe purple.

with it that dark out it will be hard to take good pics, esp if you have a camera with variable shutter speed or are using 800 speed film. Nice underbody kit though

beautiful job man, beautiful car as well.
im sure you probably dont want to hear this but do some searching on google or something for underbody LED's. i used to have green underbody's on on eof my old cars. then i heard about underbody LED's. a ***** shop down the street sells them for like 400 bucks. well on google a firend of mien found out how to make them. it cost us a total of about 50 bucks, and compared to our neons they were much brighter. go to like a radio shack and spend liek 10 bucks on LEDs if yo uhave any experience with wood you can make a few LED light bars really quick. the only thing u need the google site for is for resistor size, and it tells you how to hook up a mini computer that lets you make the Leds scroll back and forth like the nightrider thing. you can have them flash independently, chase each other. it look sso awesome at night. look into it man they are so much brighter then neons and less of a chance of breaking.

i used a fuji digital camera for the photos
sorry.but i can offer one piece of advise... you cant wait until complete dark to take the photos. most cameras dont have a large enough lens to capture a large amount of light in darkness (like what's lit up by the flash), so the best time to take photos of your neon is when you can just start to notice that they're turned on.
unfortunately, the neons aren't at they're brightest at this point, but hey.. i got quite a few very nice compliments about mine!
P.s. your car (and its paint job) blows me away!
Thanks everyone, for your compliments. it means a lot.

Dude the exhast in that pic looks badass the way the tips and smoke is blue i like em long like that looks nice and ya dont get black **** on ya bumper like the stock muffler
i'm sorry, i don't want to put your car down but it just looks terrible........ i want to be nice about it because your car is nice looking but those pipes are just rediculous.
if you keep the engine in good running shape there shouldn't be any residue on the bumper and even if you can't manage that you could wash it once an a while so it doesn't "stain" the paint.
i'm trying to be nice about the whole thing, but i can't possibly see how that looks good in any way. you might as well add a trailer hitch to the back as well. such a beautiful car and you go and do something like that; it's a shame....
change those pipes and it would definately be up there in the few birds i wouldn't mind owning....otherwise i'd have to leave it in the garage. it's just one of those things where you see it and you don't want to say anything bad because the rest of the car is so nice; but deep down inside you know you should.

in fact, i didn't even put those tips on, the last owner did. i probably wouldn't even have gone to the effort of installing them, had they not already been on there.
but like i said above, i like the tips enough NOT to take them off. the exhaust staining the bumper would not be an issue to me, as i wash my car religiously.
i think you should ignore the pipes, as you had nothing but nice compliments before you saw them. i dont think exhaust tips are a very large part of a car, and most people dont even notice. I will not be losing any sleep over having a car that's not one of the few that you "wouldn't mind owning".. because she's mine and i'm never going to sell her.
im sorry i put you through such mental anguish and torture by having a nice car with "terrible" tips.

>> by the way, kandied, just for the record, i'd love to own your car cuz it's sweet!

well i'm glad to see your not to upset over my comment. i just thought it should be said since most are probably thinking the same way.
you can easily have the tips sized back for less than 5-10 bucks and it would look 1,000 times better. your just asking for some high school punk to jump on one.
you may think most people won't notice and in first glances at the pictures i didn't. but i guarantee that in person everyone notices and most probably don't want to upset you or hurt your feelings.
it is a nice car and there is no reason to focus on such a small detail. unfortunately it's little details such as those that make a nice car a great car. after all you should do what you like; i just couldn't sleep at night telling you that it's "ok". guarantee you fix them and you'll get alot more compliments; but your happiness should be all that matters and not opinions of others.

the steve looks great!
now i think im gonna go get red neons for my car......everyone was telling my that it was ***** but i disagreed. i think that neon looks sweet and would add to the red in my new paint job and go good with my red interior.
also i dont think that the tips look too bad. its different and nice looking. but it is true that some ******* would go and jump on it and bend the hell out of it.
well looks great

Those neons look great on the underbody, but I'm not a big fan of the interior ones.

do note, though, that the picture i posted is taken from bumper level. the tips dont look quite as long from up top.
frankly im pretty happy with the amount of compliments i got, and i dont think i'd get too many more if i lost the tips. seems you're the only one who feels so strongly.. which i can live with.
anyways, point taken, you needn't go to any further lengths to communicate that you dont like the tips. dont worry... when those rust spots creep up to where you can see them, i'll buy new tips. they'll be fatter and shorter. i'll go out of my way to send you a picture.
