Your car is a beautiful example of a thirgen. But I also agree with Kandied on the tips. Although let me offer a second viewpoint.

I've had vandalism done to my cars and I've learned its best not to present a target to anyone. I can only image some idiot jumping on one of those beautiful tips and breaking your exhaust off its hangers or bending the crap out of it. If it was me (and yes I know you aren't me) I'd take those beautiful tips in a have them put on in the same locations....just shortened a bit. This would save headaches in the future for sure.

You have fun in that beautiful thirdgen.

good advise, but im not worried about vandalism. this is Canada, eh.

plus im not willing to cut em back just cuz theres people that like to be vandals. its like NOT walking on the sidewalk for fear that someones gonna be drunk and drive over me.

my time and effort is better spent working towards more upgrades anyways.

Yes, but that is a terrible analogy. this would be better.. would you walk down woodward in the middle of Detroit with a big Gold necklace and walk out of your beautiful thirdgen and not lock it or take off your face plate?

i for one like your car. and i do liek the exhaust tips. but i agree with who ever else said it. it isnt worth the headache to have to replace an exhaust over some little punk kid. if they are welded on i guess your F***ed but if they are those bolt on one swhy not move it. anyway its worth looking into.

like i said.. good point, but im not concerned.

1. they dont stick out so much that someone notices them when just walking by.

2. rich neighbourhood -- nuff said.

3. garage parked at night time; parents car sits in the driveway, my baby stays inside at all times.

p.s. pipes are welded.

why don't you take a pic of the car from a nice clean side angle........ i know i'd like to see how much they stick out. not to dwell on the subject, but i'm curious.

The man does have a point..........It's Canada..........not the U.S. were punk kids and thugs roam the streets at night with nothing to do all loaded up on cough syrup....vadalizing the area and breaking into cars.....

I've been up there and haven't seen anywhere close to the craziness i see in Florida.......I agree him that he isn't worried about getting them stepped on...............

I though would like to see a pic like Kandied mentioned....

the only reason i would like to see is because in the 7th picture i think it is they look as if they're hanging out 1/2 a foot. evident of a 1st time exhaust job at home (highschool) or a shop that just didn't know their stuff.

if you like it which you seem to do it's all good, but i know when we see cars around here like that it isn't something anyone is trying to do; it was more or less a mistake or they couldn't afford to have it done right. which your car clearly looks to nice to have something like that. guess you could always make up some excuse like they shoot flames seeing as most cars that do that have the longer tips so as not to burn the paint.

but, i'm sure i'm getting on your nerves by now which isn't my intention so i promise this is the last thing i'll say. if you get a chance though i really would like to see a good side pic.

Neons are illegal to drive with on in most places, but your allowed to have them on your car. Oh steve i'll post my pics soon enough, that is after i fix the peice of **** (damn fuel pump *mutters*) Your tips dont really stick out very far, that pic makes em look huge man.. they just stick out enough to cut your ankles while walking past hehe.. prolly 2 inches at the most. Anyways im off to bed, gotta sleep earlier so i can wake up and take the bus! *mutters* ****ing peice of **** car... bah i should stop complaining, i love my car.

side pic

sure.. i'll back her out of the garage today and take a side pic. no prob.

it is illegal to drive with the neons turned on around here (in B.C. Canada). theres 2 fines that having them turned on can get you, one is for causing a distraction to other drivers, the other is for having too many additional light sources on your car (lame huh). the combined total for the fines is 86 dollars CDN.

The first time i was driving around with them, I left them on while i passed a cop. He followed me for about a minute and then pulled me over.

"You're not gonna believe this," He says. "But your car is glowing!"

I kinda laughed and replied "yeah... cool huh?".

"Turns out, it's a distraction to other drivers" he said, smiling. "You can actually get a ticket for having them on while driving, it can cause an accident."

"Oh. I didn't know," I lied.

The rest of the conversation was very friendly, and he told me to try and keep it to the parking lots and car shows. I told him i'd make sure to remember to turn them off in the future, and how i remembered serving him back when i used to work the full serve pumps at the Gas station. Nice guy.

Of course, the incident didn't stop me from driving with them turned on. Most cops dont care, or they dont pull me over if i just turn the neon off when i see them. I know it kinda looks bad when i turn the lights off when i see the cops, but I figure it looks like I'm remembering that they're turned on when i see the cop, and i turn them off realizing my "mistake".

i love the neon. driving down the strip (the popular beachfront "marine drive" strip of restaurants and stores, i get soooooo many looks and comments and compliments, i just soak it all up. plus it just makes my car look that much better.

anyways enough blabbering on, gotta do some work.

well i decided instead of rolling her out and getting a full side, shot, i'd just take some pictures in the garage. i figure taking a shot from the middle of the car would make the tips look shorter than they actually are.

so here you go.

it looks excellent man. yea here it isnt so much the vandalizm as it is people just are jealous of cool cars. my neighbors car was broke into last night. i caught em in the act and paint balled them up pretty bad. they smashed the window in on his caprice classic and tried to pry out his FACTORY STEREO. they smashed his window in and the doors were already unlocked... no one said detroit had smart vandals. anyways those pipes dont look so far out. i liek them but in my opinion....IN MY OPINION, i liek them much wider.. anyways nice car man it must be a pleasure to drive.
