Why does everyone rip on Maaco??

note the rear bumper cover missing a lot of paint, and the hood that has no shine whatsoever. You should see under the bra.
Basically with maaco you get what you pay for. You pay $400, you get a $400 paint job. They make it work by completely eliminating prep work and spraying the absolute thinnest layer of paint on the car possibly. And forget flex additive on urethane bumpers. That's the first part to fall to pieces.
it will get you by for a few years if need be. I had maaco paint my iroc when i was in college, because it's all i could afford and it beat this once the body work was done:

It's really starting to come apart a few years later now, but i don't regret it.
Oh and the first two pictures are my old sport coupe, which i also had painted by maaco....again, because i was in high school at the time and couldn't afford more, and it beat primer. it held up a few years, no more.

Its not because its a one stage paint, its just the quality. My dad did his 56' Chevy Wagon in 1 stage Dupont Urethayne and it is awesome 6 years later...Just all about the prep and paint!
