Done some thinking , need your help

For Xmas, my Dad was going to get me a higher stall TC, right now after my new mods, I'm hopin for mid 13s, which I think will hold me for awhile.

So, I was thinkin, why not get a Maaco paint job, I can't afford nothing great right now, and I could get a new fender and get rid of that dent and repaint the whole car.

I would do all the necessary prep work and just have them spray it.

So, what would you do?

A. just get a fender and try to match the paint
B. 3k stall TC now
C. wait on TC till spring and get the entire car painted,

here's a few pics to help you judge.

The hood is by far the best painted part ofthe car, and there are a few spots where rust was painted over.

I think I would try to bang that out a little and get the whole car painted at once, (however and whenever you paint it) and go for the convertor first. Of course I am guilty of putting performance first and looks second. But that's just my opinion. I am a big fan of matching paint though.

hey mark I've seen your car in person.....
so this is the way I feel......
That dent would drive me up the wall!!!!!
I know you have done this already but this is what I would do.
1. get the car 100% running with no problems
2. get all major body work done (ie that dent)
3. performance (at least the start of it, ie cat-back, etc...)
4. paint, body work

I rather have a non painted fender than a dented fender.
that is just me.

its just that when I walk up to my car one thing bugs me, my rims (solid gold 15's)
If I had your car It would be that dent....I could deal with the non painted fender just not the dent.
the paint you have is not bad...it could last you for awhile if you take care of it.
just my 2c
biker

A 3K TC????? O_o Geez, man. Take 1,000 of that and have the car repaired and painted properly. Or did you mean 300??

If you're wanting to do all the prep work so it can be painted, take it to a local shop and have them spray it. Won't be too much more money since they don't have to prep the car O_o and the paint won't fade or flake off in a couple of years (I don't care WHAT you or they do, it won't turn out well and you'll be really unhappy when ithe paint goes bad and it's too late to take it back to have it redone)

Don't go spending too much on the TC. There are a lot of other things you can buy for the car (if the thing is really 3k @_@)

PAINT PAINT PAINT (your car looks wonderful the way it is, I just like glossy new paint)

3k doesnt mean $3000. It means it stalls the car at 3000. Kinda hard to explain but the TC is about $400-900 depending on what kind he gets. Mark is it was me id take care of the outside because with those mods you'll be fast enough for now.

If you don't need the TC til spring, I'd wait and get that dent taken care off. That thing would drive me crazy.

I myself would have a hard time living with the dent, but hey...it adds character and gives it the sleeper look. If you can't afford to fix a small dent like that then how in the hell could the car possibly be fast? Just my thoughts...

Get the TC and a fender and paint it later.

My buddy with a 92 300ZX did all the necessary prep work and Macco charged him MORE because they had to check this and that. I dont know if it was just the shop here but Macco does not like it when you do some of their work for them. Just an FYI.
