finished product (pics)

well here you are, the finished pics of my convertible. the wheels won't come until after xmas so the car is going straight into the garage. i know that a lot of people on this board aren't fans of big wheels, but i know someone on this board has a monte carlo ss, and when i saw this car parked, i had to get a picture of it. it's an 87 ss with 22"x8.5" 144 spoke daytons.

and if you happen to like nelly, which i'm sure a lot of you don't, he was in town and i got a pic of his truck that he brings out on stage.......

Nice vert! As for the Monte with the big rims, your right.not alot of people here like them too much. No offence but I think that Monte is ruined just by puttin those things on. IMO of course. YUKKY MONTE!

amazingly, the 22's fit right on the m/c. i talked to the owner about it and he said that the inner fender wells had to be modified so that the wheels wouldn't scrub. the 350 in it is not stock either but he wouldn't say what he had done to it. i could tell by the lope in the idle that it had a pretty big cam in it and when he left the parking lot, it didn't take much effort to spool those big wheels up!!!!! :hail:

Oh ya! One more thing...that is not a 87 Monte SS. Maybe a 83, 84, or 85 but not a 87. Unless the owner changed the doors, the trunk lid, and the tailight surrounds. Nope not a 87. Just so you know. Or maybe he changed the whole car over who knows, but I doubt it. I still love your vert though. Nice car! Nelly sucks. who wears a bandaid for nothing??? Wantabees. LOL NIce Avalanche though.

in the interior pic there it looks like the side of the drivers seat is all dirty and messed up, is that just a camera glitch or a shadow or something? cause the rest is sooooo clean.... sweet car man

the driver's seat has a stain in it. i have tried different cleaning solutions to try to get it out but it hasn't come out yet. however, i can't complain because i got the seats from a 97 30th anniversary car for $200 bucks. i got the other seats clean all except for that one spot on the driver's seat. any suggestions?????

the car looks great... please dont ruin it with hoopty wheels like in those other pics. daytons are about the most *** awefull ugly wheels on the face of the planet IMO. I wouldnt ever go any bigger than 18" on an f-body. You can never go wrong w/ 5 star wheels either.... well just my 2 cents

20" by 8.5" brabus monoblock iv for the passenger side,
20" by 8.5" enkei aka for the driver's side.

i know that it doesn't sound right but i like both wheels, i'm not going to buy both sets, but you can only see one side of the car at a time. that way, i get two totally different looks out of one car.

i found two pics so here they are:

this is the enkei aka:

and this is the brabus monoblock iv:

ok, you guys can start your flaming, i won't even try to defend myself or my reasoning. all i will say is that i love my car, i love big wheels; the only person that has to be satisfied with it is me. i do appreciate honesty as long as its not meant to be disrespectful. i enjoy coming to this site because we are all bound by our common love for the f-body. i enjoy the remarks and comradere of the board so that is why i posted pics, not necessarily for approval of the look, but for your appreciation of what kind of work and how much work went into reparing a totalled car.

Big wheels aren't that bad, as long as they all match. I think two different rims on the car will look pretty stupid. But, its your car like you said.

theres another member on this board who likes the 20s, different types of wheels on each side, sorry man im not trying to say that I like only one look of a car, but common 20's and 2 different types, thats the first step to making a car look fugly. I know your supposed to personalize your car to fit your self or personality but thats just ridiculas, save your money and buy a big *** truck to put 20's or anything bigger on it. I think 20's look good on a chevy half ton slammed but a maro, nah theres now way anyone in there right mind that can appreciat the way that looks. sorry dude but thats just my MO :lala: later

I'd definetly pick a different set of rims besides either of those and keep with 1 design on the car, the seats look great.

go with whatever rim you want...........but pick one set.

unless you obviously don't care what others think.

nice looking ride; love the anniversary interior. i had wanted to do the same with mine but couldn't run across a nice white set that was worthy for shows.

Love the car and looking forward to seeing it with 20's.......

I like the 5-spoke Enkei's all around.........but hey, it's your car and you are right you only see one side of the car at a time.....

Let's see some pics of when it's done..

ALSO MAKE SURE BOTH RIMS ARE IN CHROME, it will look horrible with silver on one side and chrome on the other.......

Really like the interior too, the stain is not that big of a deal, can't cost too much to fix......

I love the interior, and the car looks great.

Add me to the list of consistency as far as the same wheels all around though.

But the car is pretty sweet.

There's actually a paint you can get hold of that is made for leather seats. It sounds shady, but I swear it's professional. Ask you local body shop. The factory fourthgen seats are painted, not dyed!

Hey dgravois...I remeber your first post about the rims a while back, and I stiil wanna see how the 20s fit on the car. I never knew rims that big would fit, so it'd be intersting to see. BTW, nice car man. Good luck on those rims.
