Slotted Taillight Covers

Hey all...happy holidays:

Anyway I found some "slotted talilight covers" for 82-92 camaros at yearone.com. I had never heard about or seen them on any rides at all. Year one offered no picture and I searched here without finding anything.

Does anyone have a pic of a camaro with these taillight covers or have a pic of the actual product itself?

If nothign else I'll see if yearone can send me a pic.

Thanks,

Sorry to repost so quickly, but here is the yearone descroption of part TL58:

"1982-1992 Camaro (all except IROC) slotted light covers. "

Now I am curious why not IROC's?

i've seen them before. i think summit carries them, and shows a photo in their catalog.

i've seen them on an 89 iroc i considered buying 2 years ago. next time i see the car, i'll try and snap a photo of it.

from what i understand, irocs have different body styling(ground fx, tails etc) so alot of the manufacturers dont wanna deal with something that already looks different..therfore they just make things for plane jane camaros(scs and z28s and plane jane firebirds)

My girlfriend has them on her 86 SC. They kinda follow the lines on the spoiler, but overall I think some newer style lights would look better.

I rarely ever see the slotted ones on Camaros. They don't look bad - just kind of cluttered. I think the reason for the slots is not for the design, but because they are more street legal than complete blackouts.

that's what i'm thinking.

and iroc2nv, that makes sense, but i can't think of a reason why the camaro would have several different pieces for blackouts

I'm sure they look similar to this (above). But I still wonder what they actually look like on the longer camaro tailight.

iroc2nv:: You bring up a good point. Everybody really likes the blackouts. So do I. But, you have to take them off every time you drive so I kind of wonder about the point. I think it would be much cooler to have exterior styling pieces that you could leave on all the time.

I also found CARBON-FIBER tailight covers; but again, no pics on the old f-body. It could turn out they don't look good, but its a kind of middle ground between to blackouts and the [nonexistent] clear covers.

I guess you could say they same thing for the slotted ones.

The price btw is $80/pair.

I wish black-widow could get us a pic of what those covers look like on his girlfriends car (hint, hint )

The only difference between an IROC and a z28 are some stickers when it comes to styling. **** my 89 RS could be made to look just like my IROC with some stickers and a different grill insert.

I've seen them on an RS. They look better than RS/Sport Coupe tails, but I personally prefer the IROC/Z28 grid tail lights.
