ok i have a lift off Hardwood cowl hood, its the 4inch one
i like the fully lift idea but it would be easier for a bolton hood,
so what do you guys think i should do go with the SS bolt on hood or the Hardwood 4inch cowl lift off,
if i go with the SS then i will sell the Hardwoon with the LOCKING HOOD PINS, i havent mounted the hood yet or even cut the holes for the hood pins.
Thanks

I would have to say go with the SS hood they look great on 3rd gens.
thats a nice hood.
see i am going to need clearance, tunnel ram or a victor race series intake from edelbrock. not the victor jr. thats why i like the 4 inch cowl hood and because at a show a lift off hood would be nice so the judges can get a great view, but i like the bolt on so i dont have to keep track of the keys for the hood pins and then cary carpt to put onto of the car so i dont scratch the paint.

go with a ram air, the style of the new firebirds, it looks not to bad and has good clearance for big motors, cowl hood is overdone, i had one a 4 inch blot on, and after a while i saw everyone else had one too, the SS is nice to but if you need clearance the SS is probably not for you. if the SS has enough hood clearance for you that would be my first choice.
i would go with the ram air, if i liked it, no offence, just not my choice in tire smoke, dont ask, im tired...

Well if its a fiberglass hood and you stick with the hinges and stuff, then be sure not to run the stock hood shocks. Over time the force caused by the shocks will warp and crack the hood at the shock mounting points . I recommend you dont run any hood shocks at all.
