The car looks pretty good, I agree with the opinion on the writeup though, reads like an ad out of a bad dirty magazine.

Nice looking car. Description is a humorous read...

Look at the supersize picture of the back left... look at the black spray paint on the ground around the back left tire

This is the very best Formula Pontiac has ever made.

With or without the T-Tops you can hear and feel the thunderous Roar of the engine. The sound is similar to that of a Mustang 5.0 but not quite as loud.

and what you would expect from a high-dollar Italian sports car.

That looks more like tire wet to me. Just overspray from doing the tires right before the picture. But heck, with this guy anything goes.

I wish I could feel that much lightning and thunder when I drive my car. I guess I only need to get a TPI injection and put it on my 305. So I too can decide when the lightning will strike next.

The seller definately sounds like an 80's car salesman. He talks about the 305 like its a big block. The 305 is not exactly a stellar engine, afterall, it is a destroked 350 that replaced the 307.

Wet dream, rare - give me a break. The guy even put Camaro in the ad. Last time I checked, there has never been a Camaro Formula.

Whee! yay!

Destroked and debored? I was aware that the 350 and 305 had different bores and strokes. Therefore, whee!

forgive me, I've been away from my car for too long....

last time i checked there was no such thing as a tuned-port high output engine. i believe there was a 305 tuned-port and a 305 high output. just a thought.

actually a 305 is not DESTROKED, it just has a much smaller bore. the stroke is the same on a 305 and a 350. fyi.

Yep, you're right. The carbed L69 was known as the 305 H.O., and I'm pretty sure '85 or '86 was the last year it was available. I learned on the History/Resto board that "Tuned Port" was the 305's high output engine (compared with the TBI 305), but I don't think GM ever used the term "High Output" when referring to "Tuned Port". Okay, enough of my rambling.

The only H.O. 305s I know of where the carburated 4 barrels back in 84. I don't think there were H.O. 305 TPIs either.

I don't know much about the Chevy engines, all I know is that the 305 was engineered from the 350. I guess I was wrong on the destroking part.

Do you like the feeling you get when a thunderstorm approches?? This Formula is very rare and very special. Only one in every ten Formulas Pontiac ever made was given the Tuned-Port High Output 5.0 motor. The car is made for performance, but is also a great daily driver. The motor is very similar if not identical to the Corvette motor. Tuned-Port 5.0 fuel-injected motors deliver fuel instantaniously to the valves resulting in instant speed. This car has been babied in a garage by a female owner. The paint, body and interior are very impressive (very few if any flaws). The handling of this car is super nimble, and hyper-responsive, and what you would expect from a high-dollar Italian sports car. It has performance suspension. This is the very best Formula Pontiac has ever made. With only 88,000 original gently driven miles, this car is ready for you. But beware: It is very fast and very responsive. You'll feel the negative G's while hugging the curves on a country road. PURE EXHILARATION!!!! With or without the T-Tops you can hear and feel the thunderous Roar of the engine. The sound is similar to that of a Mustang 5.0 but not quite as loud. Wherever you go you will feel the thunder... It is up to you to decide when you think lightening should strike. Please ask any questions before the end of the auction. Good Luck and happy bidding!

Ummm.....no? Who lives closest to this nut? will you do 3rd gen kind a favor and smack him for us? my 10 year old sis knew more bout it than him!

It is a nice looking car though....I will give him that...but no more credit than that! I think he made the car look worse by his description...

I'm suprised any of you guys didn't catch this one.....

Then they say........

But beware: It is very fast and very responsive. You'll feel the negative G's while hugging the curves on a country road. PURE EXHILARATION!!!!
The question that comes to mind is, if it was being babied, how would you know it pulls negative G's in turns {the correct term is lateral G's}, and its fast and responsive? If thats babying a car, I'd hate to see her flog one out!

Jay

I think so because even new tires are not that shiny and glossy black.

I think this is the best and most clever line:

"Wherever you go you will feel the thunder... It is up to you to decide when you think lightening should strike."

As for the "spraypainted" tires, I think he just sprayed a crapload of armoral over them...even on the tread. The pavement will look like that too after you spray it. (He prolly did the tread too just for this ONE picture from the rear).
