Polishing Wheels need advice and opinions
I wanted to Polish my wheels over winter break since i will have 5 weeks off. I was wondering for those that have done it if they would do it again or is it just too much trouble to keep them clean/shinny?
it is well worth it especialy if ur wheels look like poopey. i did mine not only to polish them up for the shine but i also painted them a darker color since my car is black. i think i've got some pics.

Your right on the workload......im currently doing mine now......and i will say its alot of work.....but the results that came out were awsome. Well worth it. with the amount of polish i have on them....nothing should stick..lol....but i doubt that will happen ill prolly have alot of brake dust on them once summer comes around again.

I would do it again in a heartbeat, but would b1tch the whole time, lol.
Search for my directions if you'd like.
Adds a very nice touch.
I spent about 3hr per wheel.
Also, electric sander will work wonders, and saves so much time.

Mark,
I actually already got the directions you posted and was planning on using them. I just have to go out and look for some of that 3m aluminum retorer

I'd do mine again in a heartbeat as well. Mine was pretty crappy before. I figured I had nothing to lose by doing it. Turns out it's a great/cheap thing to do and well worth the effort. IMO anyways.
As for keeping them lookin good. It's all about how good you want them to look. Just make sure you clean them thoroughly every time you wash your car, and you should have nothing to worry about. I usually take a metal polish to it at least once a month if not more.

Like everyone else said, its alot of work but well worth it. I'd also do it again. Its very cheap to do and adds alot of touch to your car. I used Mothers Aluminum and Mag polish on mine, that stuff worked wonders the first time around. Cleaning them is a breeze also, hose them down, and wipe off with 100% cotton rags.
Have fun.

Yeah its a lot of work using all kinds of sandpaper grits, but I plan on doing my other two and redoing the two I did using polishing wheels and compounds from Eastwood. Its a lot easier that way. For all the info you need, try these links:
