Got tires ?
For $405 (for all of them) delivered to my door, I'm not going to complain
I think these will look pretty good on my 'bird even if it is just sitting in my garage. (sorry to post nonsense.. I'm just happy to finally have both cars sitting on 'good' tires for once).

1991tealRS.. you nailed it.. tirerack.com. I ordered them yesterday (thursday) and got them tonight (friday).
NT.. they are Kuhmo ESCTA 711s for $55/ea. They are stock size 245/50-16... all I know is they can't be at all worse then the Cooper Cobras (wheels with no tire have more traction) that I was driving on (and are flat now). A few of you were amused (along with myself) by the start of my bad tire luck by the pic of the vice-grips I picked up in one of my tires (formerly on my camaro)
After that I developed a slow leak in the other rear (matching) tire (both on the 'bird now and the 'birds wheels are on the camaro) and, what finally set me off is I went out to go to 'work' the other day and had yet another flat because there was a drywall screw in my tire. In a mood swing.. I said screw it and just ordered enough tires to cover all bases.
I really dislike directional tires but, at $55 a corner.... I can make an exception

Nice tires! and a better price. But if you dont mind my asking, why 6, and not the complete 8? Also what did they charge you for shipping? You might have just picked out my next tires.

I only bought 6 because the front (sumitomo from TR) tires are still in very good condition.. I don't know why the backs seem to wear so quick though
Shipping works out to be roughly $60 for the 6 tires.
6 tires@55=330+5% (since I live in the same state as TR)=346.50 and I paid $406 to my door. TR has a thing that will give you a shipping total to your door w/o having to actually order or call them.
I just dropped the vice-grip tires off to have a one of the new pair put on. That's one good thing about having 2 sets of wheels... no sitiing around and waiting

What's the latest? Any opinions on your ECSTA 711's??? I am ready to buy tires, and wondering what you think of them.

I have the kumho ecsta 712's and I love them. They are by far the best handling tire I have ever purchased. They are great in wet weather as well as dry, but I am not sure about snow yet. Had them in it once, but I was very careful didn't really push it, I had my children in the car. But they don't have much of a snow pattern.

Would you suggest that I get the 712's over the 711's? I can get them for:
711's: 55 a piece = $250.14 incl. shipping
712's: 83 a piece = $363.76 incl. shipping
Also you say that they are the best tires you ever purchased. What tires are you comparing them to? I saw their ratings on TireRack.com, and these tires almost put GoodYear GS-C's to shame.
Thanks,
Kurt
