I now own 2 thirdgens... (Updated..)
I finally picked up the 92 Z28 that I have been looking at for a while now. There is no engine, but I have a 350 to put in it, hopefully it will be back on the road by the end of next month. Someone stole the rims and tires last week, so these had to go on for now... Oh-well. here are some pictures.

The engine will be stock. I am replacing the engine in my Yukon with a new crate motor and putting a Vortech supercharger on it, so the current motor in the truck is finding its' way into the 92. I will need to buy the vortec TPI manifold to make it work, but other than that, it will most likely remain stock.

I bought it for 900.00. I will most likely sell it when I am finished, hopefully making a few thousand.

I just looked at it a bit, there are Suspension Technics springs in it and KYB struts. There is also a 10 bolt posi disk rear with the PBR calipers...

Very nice find there. By the way, in case you wernt aware, the vortec tpi manifold is on back order for a very long while. Thats why i havnt gone with my vortec setup on my car yet.
You could definitly make some more money then you have invested which means more money for the other camaro....
Glad to see some people are finding these abused nice cars, making them nice and throwing them back out onto the market....

The lights are something else that the old owner knew nothing about, supposedly, someone swapped them without his knowledge. The grid type lights were on it the last time I looked at it.... They are easily found though, so it will be no trouble getting them correct. Here is a picture of it that I took a while back when I first saw it.

Here are a few more pictures I just took.
Oh, I also have found $13.74 so far just under the seats
This picture of the front shows the only real damage... easily fixed though.

The only interior problem seems to be the headliner. I need to give it some attention.

I think I got a good deal too
Too bad the wheels were stolen before I picked it up, it would have been a very good deal then.

Nice find dude! And speaking of taking the leather off of the steering wheel, it was a pita for me! First, I cut it off with a razor blade, then there was this yellow sticky stuff that was under the leather on the rim, so I had to scrape it off with a pocket knife. Then, I realized it looked really crappy, so I put a nice aftermarket grip on it. The grip fits and looks alot better since the rim on the wheel isn't as thick, so it covers it all up, instead of leaving a gap. Keep us posted on its progress!

Thanks for the compliments... I will have updated pics hopefully by Tuesday afternoon. I spent a few hours looking it over today and found it to be in even better shape than I thought. I figured some of the paint was going to need re-doing, but a buffer and some compound will do just fine.

Thats how it is supossed to work anyway. lol Whatever you do for a living, must be nice. Good luck with your cars. I'll leave you alone, not like i was getting to you anyway. later

No, not the CIA...
I have 2 jobs, one in the firearm industry, and the second is in a local motorsports shop doing mostly off-road type of stuff and custom fabrication. My wife is in real estate, so with the combined income, we are doing very well, not Bill Gates type of money, but pretty good. I am actually going to sell the black car I just bought and make a profit, and also sell my 73 Camaro and focus more on my 69 and 91 Camaros. Too many projects get overwhelming, especially when you have a family to take care of...... If you are young (or older I suppose), use your best judgment and follow your desires, it is really not hard to make a good life for yourself unless you choose the wrong path and get involved with the wrong type of stuff. I have friends that got into drugs, some still do them, but they are struggling to live and make ends meet. I never am going to be one to preach to someone about doing drugs, they are just not for me, and I think part of my success has to do with staying away from them. There are many other things that most of the time will lead to a poor way of life, that is just the biggest mistake I see around me. Every person, no matter what race , religion , etc. is born with equal opportunity, it is just how one chooses to go about life.
Sorry, I don't know why this whole thing got off topic, but....

You took the words out of my mouth. I have been blessed with a family with 5 kids, great wife, a wonderful job, nice house, car, van, and the Camaro. All at the age of 24. Pick the right road, you can't go wrong. I am sure the good Lord helped along the way too.

johnsjj2 ... Could you please give me more info on your engine? I would appreciate any pictures you may have (e-mail them if you want) , I am thinking of doing a Victor Jr. intake on my 91 and converting that intake to EFI. , but am unsure of hood clearance. I do not wish to run a cowl induction hood if I don't need to, the stock appearance is important to me. Thanks.

Yeah, i hear ya on the whole drug issue! Some of my friends are getting "lost" in that stuff! One friend i did not even recognize he was in such bad shape. Staying on the right path is really the only way to go as i see it. Everyone just needs to find their own path that fits! I figure you will get the things you want if you keep focussed, so i try. Well, take care of those cars!

You got that for $900?!
:hail:
The interior is beautiful...
You could part out that car and get more than $900.... even with no engine.
Nice find!

Update... the rear suspension is completely upgraded and the entire underside has been pressure washed. Now, the real work begins...

The interior is fully cleaned too. I had a local company come out and shampoo everything. It looks near new again on the inside.

Update... The headliner is back to the way it is supposed to be... Other than that, not much progress, I have been too busy.

New headliner pictures finally.... This was the first time I ever have tried any interior work. I think it turned out great though. The sun visors need to be recovered next, then it will be perfect. Let me know what you think... It only cost me 20 bucks total, that includes the new material and the 3M spray glue.
