Tried to put 17x11 Grand Sport Wheels on my car, results inside.

My buddy is selling a set of GS Wheels and I wanted to see how they would look on my car so I tried to stick the rear one on.

This is the wheel,

Well, the wheel is about 0.25 - 0.5" too wide so it hits the bump stop on the body,

So I grabbed a 2.25" wheel adaptor I had in the garage and slapped that on the rear and bolted the wheel to the car,

It looks ugly with the wheel sticking out so much.

I think that it would look better with all the wheels on it, and the car sitting on the ground.... You could also knock the inner wheel well in some, to place the wheels closer to the center of the car.... takes a lot more work though...

17x10's look great, I wouldn't see why the 11's couldn't be made to look better....

Well, when i go to order my Fiske 17by11s i'll let you know what they say as far as modifications! lol yeah right, that'll be the day when i really have money to burn. I wish, but anyway, i would love to have the 11s in the rear. Isn't there someone with some on their car around here? It does not look good with those spacers at all. See what you can come up with, but first i would love to see that motor in there! later

Car was sitting on the ground in the last 3 pictures.
It was cold and raining when I did this and it was night time.
Wish it were warm and sunny.

Oh, and the 17x11's I tried to put on had 335's instead of the normal 315. I'll try it again later with a 1/2" spacer since that is about all I think I needed for clearance with my 4th gen rear.

the grand sport wheel is a slightly different offset/backspacing then the zr1 style i beilive, since the grand sport didnt have the wider rear of the zr1.

Ya, the offset is a little different. the ZR1 offset probably would have bolted on withouth the spacer but may have stuck out a bit, but probably not as far as the GS's were sticking out with the 2.25" spacers.
I just like the black rim and chrome lip look.

I think the wheels would look good on your car if they did not stick out. What does that make the 6th set of wheels you had on your car.

I lost count, I think I've have 7 already, so this would make 8.

Wide is an understatement. These 17x11 wheels would swallow my 17x9.5 OZ's

They are pretty wide rims - a bit too massive for me.

Zepher,

Is there anything on your car that you decided to permanitely stick with? I have 8 pictures of your car and not a single picture does your car look the same. I try out all of my ideas on paper, but you do it in real life as if your car was made out of legos or something.

Well, I've decided to stick with the stock dash, but I would like to get the digital cluster from Marks Custom Kits.
Spoiler will change since it won't work on a notchback that I want to get, hood will be changed as well, I want the 97 WS6 style hood. Those 3 parts will be installed last since they are so pricey, especially the cluster.

I know exactly how I want my car to look, just can't afford it at the moment, and the parts I do change on the car occassionally don't really cost me anything, a lot of the times it just a straight swap with someone.
Oh, and I sometimes change my mind when everyone starts to do what I was thinking about doing, like the 4th gen wing, everyone started doing so I decided to change.
Maybe I'll drop a VTEC motor in my car, I've never seen anyone do that yet.

Probably the GTAuto one since the 88 one is hard to get.
without the hatch it looks like a notchback,

the GTAuto notchback looks weird...continues the lines of the car, rather than just stopping where the hatch begins..
Not sure if I like that or not =\
Post pics if you do get it..I haven't seen anyone with one yet

I like the look of the original notchbacks. I think that as a coupe the 3rd gen is pretty damn sharp. I have a few edited pics of people's cars as if they were notchbacks.

Haven't had a chance to try again. Working full time on my friends 82 T/A, doing an LT1/4L60E conversion and new fuel setup and a bunch of other mods to it.
