How hard to strip painted Z28 wheels?

Hey guys,

I've got the Z28 wheels (like the ones on the RS in the sig) and the insides of the rims are painted white. I was wondering either how hard is it to take the paint off, or just paint them black? Any help or tips?

Thanks!

Hi FRDH8R
Just done this myself! MY IROC wheels were painted white (horribly white). A small bit of paint stripper (Nitromors in the UK) took it off easily. The hardest bit was masking and painting!

Sooooo, then the paint remover won't harm the wheels at all? So what I could do is just use the stripper (haha, no pun intended!) to pull of the white, cause I'd rather have them no color at all.

Also, I don't know if the white was from factory or if someone painted them.

Thanks!

Yep. No harm will be done to the wheels at all. Smother them all over with a stripper!

Andy.

PS Notice that I removed the tyres first! Don't want to get a stripper attacking them!

Those look very nice! I didnt remove my tires when I started to do my Formula rims, I did tape off the tire around the wheel and I was very careful not to get the stripper on the tire. If you do get it on the tire, be sure to wipe it off quickly or your tire will melt away! Be sure to post pics when youre done!
