wow, they put an LS1 in a Gran Prix and called it a GTO!

 

Thats what i'm saying! Is there a new Grand Prix due out in 04, if not, then this car is it! With a V8 that will probally turn 14s too. I'm not impressed ,we'll see what the prices turn out to be. If they are anyhting like the latest f-bodies, i think this car will go out of style real quick IMO.

 

no no, the ls1 grand prix was the pontiac G8, the G8 didn't get to be a production car because of this little peice of **** GTO thing, the G8 looked bad ***, ls1, AWD, ram air, true duals, chrome rims, and still very practical....I have seen dog **** that looked better than the GTO thing...

 

isnt that already out and about in australia? but it is not a pontiac, it is another division of GM over there. i think that they are also thinking about putting out a new car with a 427 in it that has around 430hp.

I think that thing looks a hell of alot better than the GTO...i don't see why the passed it up for such a ****ty concept/revival of the GTO, if they were gonna make a GTO come back, they should have honored it's namesake and made a bad *** car, not a **** burner on steroids.

 

I like the look. I like it alot more than the 4th gen F-Body. Sorry folks but everyone is going for that retro look now. If you want a car that looks like an older GTO, then you should probably go buy an older GTO. This is the new style and I can see alot of possibilities. Both the car and engine have already been in production for a while, there will be alot of aftermarket choices right away. I think its great. Its about time we have a 4 door sedan powered by a LS1. I give it a thumbs up.

Its not that i don't like the look. I thought the G8 was awesome. I just feel like they slapped GTO badges on a GP. IMO.

Did they say "global product development capabilities"? What they mean is, "holy crap, that car sells. Let's rebadge it as a GTO and sell it here!!!"

Would you guys be happy if Holden made a 2door rear drive coupe and Chevy rebadged it and sold it here as a Camaro? NOOOOO!!! Of course not. The Camaro/Firebird and GTO all deserve to be their own models, not rebadged older models.

As for styling......it's OK, but not great.

 

As for CrazyHawaiian, I'm not real big on the styling, but I agree with you that it's about time for a 4door rear drive car with an LS1. Just don't call it a GTO. How about a caprice?

 

i was watchin the extra seance in XXX and they had the
GTO was coming out this yr not next yr. but the one they had in XXX it looked sweet and the yellow wasnt that bad, i want one if the price is right.

Yea, thats a huge point alright. But a neon with a 5.7 V8 and RWD would be kind of neat, I guess. Definitly doesn't scream GTO though. But it doesn't look bad IMO.

Ya the old GTO was a real looker . I still consider the 70 chevelle one of GMs best looking cars. On the other hand 64-67 GTO has to be the worst.

 

the new GTO will do it's namesake as much justice as the chevy malibu did/does the chevelle...****in shame....makes me want to buy a ford

You guys should be happy that gm is at leats making a sports car thats cost about the sames as the Mustang.

It may not Say TransAm or Camaro or even look like one.
But does ant evere one get Tried of seeing the same thing time and time agen..

Im glad Gm is making a Sports car that Has a diffrent look from evere other sport car thay have made.
