Well, I was getting on the highway and as soon as I merged into the lane I was shifting into 4th at 65-75mph, don't remember, but the tires broke loose and the rear end kicked out 90 degrees instantly. I slid into the guard rail, nose first, spun around and tapped the rear and got the car straight and just happened to be heading the correct direction and on the shoulder away from traffic that was coming up from behind. It's all cosmetic and the air bags didn't deploy.
My friend in the back seat broke his nose on the backside of the pass front seat, my friend in the pass seat somehow scratched is nose on the side, and I hit my head onto the drivers side window.

It was wet outside, which was the main factor in the accident.
So, be extra carefull when it's wet. I was way too over-confident in my driving and this is what happened.

HAAHAHAHAHAH...sorry...but thats too damn funny. if you cant handle a car when its wet...theres something wrong with your driving skills dude...

I can handle the car when it's wet, except this time when the rear kicked out, it kicked out hard and fast. I was sliding sideways almost instantly.

Its happened to me before but I didnt hit anything. I was driving home on a day it rained heavily and this part of the road came up it was about 3 feet long. It was completly filled with water and when I hit it going 60mph the car went totally sideways. l :--l thats what the car kind looked like. I slid like that for about 20 feet and had the wheel completly turned to the left trying to pull out of it. Then I finally got some traction and pulled out of the the slide. If there was a turn just after that my car would have hit it and theres nothing I could have done about it. It doesnt matter how good of a driver you are when you hydroplane theres nothing you can do until you get traction again.

So markb I take it your a pro driver or something.Drive cart cars?

I can drive fairly well. And I have had cars and trucks come around on me in the rain.Ever been doing 80 down the highway completly counter steered?

Things happen way to quickly in the rain.(and snow)For even the best drivers to counter act.

I just hope you don't wreck your car.If you do I wouldn't expect any sympathy if I was you.

Thanks.
The 91-92 GFX are hard to come by, especially if you only need the door pieces like I did. Dealer wanted $120/molding and $40/bracket. Took 6 months to find a used pair at a decent price.
Guy I bought them from had a complete GFX set and I told him if he parted out the set that I'd buy the door pieces. So I got both door pieces and the brackets for $120. I bought the rocker panels for $35 from a friend of mine that was going to put them on his 88 Camaro, until he wrecked the car.

Hey Zepher, by the bracket do you mean the metal part that slides into the actual plastic trim piece and holds it to the door? Pretty much a flat piece of metal with 5 or 6 bolts running throught it? If you do, I could really use the part number for that. Mine rusted to pieces and havent been able to find another.

Thanks
Chris

Ya, that's the bracket I am talking about.
Dealer should be able to locate a part number pretty easy.
I never got the part number myself, I just went in and asked them for a price.

You did a pretty good job...Makes me wanna do the same with my car...

So did you paint the whole car with spray paint?

What kind of paint did you use? Are you gonna clear coat it ?

Ya, the entire car, except the hood since it was already black, was painted with generic spray can paint.
The can said General Purpose Paint.
I may put another coat or two and then wet sand it and spray some clear on it.
It's been so cold outside lately that I haven't had a chance to anything to the car and my garage is filled with my motor parts, new tools, body parts, etc...
