What to do, WHAT TO DO!

Help, Im stuck. I am getting $800 for new stereo stuffs for my car in March...but I started thinking about it and $800 is enough for the SS hood and the spoiler I want to get....but I so want to finish my system! I DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO! Which ever I choose, I will get the other this summer. Also, $800 is enough to buy my hood and spoiler, but not to get it painted...so they would either sit in my garage or on my car unpainted...Help me pleaze!

Well judgeing by your sig you are going to order the system in march. When do you plan on painting your car? Long ways away or soon. If its a while until the paint I would defantly get the sound system.

Well, if I order the hood and stuff, I'll paint asap when I get the money. If I order the system, I will have to save the money to get the hood and spoiler and THEN the money to paint...so it all depends what or buy i guess.

Buy the hood and get it painted, then do the spoiler later. Having those parts sitting there is gonna **** you off every time you look at them if they're sitting there not on the car!

Heres a few things to consider:

Stereo:

PROS
Loud
Good Sound
Attracts attention

CONS
Attracts attention- Makes your car vulnerable to theives
Long term hearing damage (i'm 31 and I got it listening to loud music)

Body mods:

PROS
Looks great
Won't get stolen
Won't cause hearing problems

CONS
Gotta wait a while to get painted to match

My vote is for body mods. The stereo will cause more future problems.

Personally, I wouldn't get the hood and spoiler until the car is more powerful. I'm not a big fan of putting flashy body mods on a car that can't back it up. Just my opinion though, I don't wanna start a war.

1. change your avatar, seriously man its not right!
2. go for the hood, get it painted, then after you have more cash go for the wing and paint that because you said yourself that you already have a loud stereo so why not leave it like that?
3. if you want decent gas milage why not switch to a 3.8 v6 out of the newer camaros, they have 200hp and still get decent gas milage, just my 2 cents
4. change your avatar! its hideous!!!

you already have a system so i would probably just pick a body part and get one painted for now. then use the rest of the money to buy the other part.

How about that fact that you have one the slowest 3rd gens out there? That money would be better spent on the engine...dunno about you guys but an SS hood with a 2.8L? Maybe you should just invest in some stickers...more HP for your buck...

So I say go for the Stereo, no sense making a slow car look fast. You are gonna get raced and get smoked every single time.

Ne way... Well think of it this way. Your car does look good right now.. but.. does your stereo sound good, can you deal with the way it sounds for now? I guess what you have to ask yourself is .. how much do you love music? and how much do you love looking at your car everyday? which ever one out weights the other.. Take it and run with it! I mean I love music.. I just spent 200 bucks on a mp3 player the size of a bic lighter that I use all the time. I can listen to it while in a store then come out to my car and just plug it into the face of my cd player. If it were me.. I would get the speakers. The car looks good stock. Hood.. yeah sok but music outweights it to me. I like factory hoods... well unless ya got one of those real flat camaro ones.

heh.. you really made me think.. well I would use the fiberglas box I built for 300 bucks.. I would two alpine type 12" type Rs with a decent amp in it... I would keep a little bit of that 800 then save for the hood but speakers first. thats just my; 2 cents.......

Im not sure on the MPG, but I can get 400 miles out of one tank of gas, and then I have to put 15 gallons in. I thought about the 3.8 v6 but havent seen any around and dont know a price range on them. I have a friend down in Missouri that can get me a Vortec V-8 (im assuming 350, he never said though) w/ a 6 wire hookup, fuel injection, just drop it in and go, for $1700. I have been thinking a bout going that route this summer instead of the hood/spoiler/paint or stereo. So I could go w/ the stereo, then get the v-8, then get the hood and spoiler. But if I get a V-8, wont I have to change my tranny and rear end and probably some other stuff? I know I'll have to change my motor mounts too...

As for the avatar...:P Im workin on it! I was gonna do it yesterday but go hella sick (still kinda am) and havent had time to change it.

I would go with the sound system. I have one in my car and love it! Of course with out it I wouldn't be able to hear the radio over the exhaust It was one of the first things that i did to my car.

i would not do anymore stereo things. engine swaps are expensive and even if ya get the engine for 1700 i bet it will cost ya over 2500 to be said and done. you would need headers/exhaust, tranny. induction system. its an arm and a leg. so with that said i would just buy whatever little small pieces that you need to make the interior perfect, or just get a hood.

I know where you could get a custom turbo setup built for the V6 for the price a good V8 swap would cost you. If you are interested PM me.

For anyone wondering what I was gonna get for stereo stuff:

a second Type-R 12"
1200.1 JBL Amp for subs
P80.4 JBL Amp for highs
Alpine 7893 headunit

That is $808 total from Ikesound. I also need to get wiring, distribution block, and a cap. So it is gonna be more like $1000 in new stereo stuff, but the $800 I am borrowing, the other $200 I have.

You should go with the hood and spoiler......But I would rather have a V8 for $800......you would have to change your transmission to swap in a V8, but not your rear-end, unless you wanted a better ratio....

Also, you should make that pic in your sig smaller.....
