They might fit, the sidewalls would stick out to the maximum. I think that is too much tire for an 8" rim on a car. It would be fine if it was on an SUV and on a 15" rim. 255 would be the largest I would go on an 8" wide rim.

A 275- 60-16? If it did fit (which I doubt), it is a 29 in. overall diameter tire and would look pretty weird!

bfg used to make a 275-50-r16, which is what was on my iroc when i bought it. They are around 27 inches tall, and they rubbed on corners and pretty much constantly with people in the back seat.

a 275-60-r16 is two inches taller.. not a chance in hell.

stick with a 255-50 on a 16 inch rim. there's no good sizes to go bigger unless you have a 17" rim.

yeah that was a type-o. i ment to put 275/50/R16s. what i want is something thats decent in weather but wide enough to give me good launches. i would go low profile but i want to retain the "muscle car-ness" of my car and low profiles make it look like r*ce

BTW, why cant i say r*ce anymore? whats so bad about it? r*ce r*ce r*ce!!! R I C E!!!! is there something wrong?

The only reason imports have low profile tires is because the cars are smaller and weigh less so they can use a smaller tire. Thirdgens are not muscle cars - they are sports cars.

I still say a 275 is still too wide for an 8" rim.
