well its all in the # of megapixels you want. I wouldnt settle for anything less than 2.0 megapixels, IMO. If you look around you might be able to find one for $150 or so. If you want the best quality, step up to a 6.0 megapixel, but get out your checkbook, they run closer to $1500.

So IMHO, go with like an HP, KODAK (usually pretty cheap), or SONY.

The resolution is the amount of detail that the camera can capture. The megapixels are the amount of pixels that make up the detail of the picture. So the more pixels it has, the more detail it can capture.

For example, if you have a 1200 x 1600 resolution, then you take 1200 * 1600 to get 1,920,000 pixels, also known as 1.92 megapixels.

Better understood?

This is what i use
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=30014

It is a canon G2. Pretty nice camera, but the stock lens sucks b@lls at night. It is better than most so it costs more than most. You can find 2.0-3.0 mega pixles for under $200 usually. Check out every online store you can find and also check out best buy and circuit city, they have really good prices on open box items. And they still have the same waranty.

I have a Canon Powershot A40, which is 2.0 Megapixels. 2.0 MP equals 1600X1200. I upgraded to a 256MB flash card which gives me around 300 pictures at that resolution. I took a photography class in high school, which helps tremendously when taking pics.

I use a Kodak DC-260 camera, which is a 1.6MP camera. Decent camera but a lot of the new ones are much better.
Olympus has cameras that take awesome pictures, not sure of the cost though.
The best digital camera I have used is the Canon D60 6MP camera. $3,000 with 2 lens.
Here is a pic that I sized down since each image is like 3Kx2K and are 2megs to 4.7megs each,

Olympus D-490 2.1 Megapixel. I love it! This model has been replaced though but Olympus usually rates high in picture quality.
Here are 2 samples form it

I have a Sony Cybershot 2 MP that I picked up for $200 at Best Buy a few months back. Other than the lack of optical zoom, I'm extremely happy with this camera.

You can get disposible cameras that look better then those irocbirdbuilder.

Then you can have them put onto a disk, or you can just buy a digital camera, but by all means, get a different camera
