Look at all the boxes. :)
I am helping my friend mod his 82 Trans Am right now and look at all the nice new parts that are going to go in it.
Here are most of the boxes,

Here's the SLP Intake and 1LE Elbow

Here we have a bunch of fittings,

50' of braided -6AN hose,

MSD Plug wires and March Power Pulleys

One of the headers and part of the Borla Exhaust

New Griffin Radiator,

This is the car that all of those parts are going into,

The LT1/4L60E should be here in a few weeks.
There are a few more parts on thier way, and my friend says that the UPS man isn't upset yet.
I am looking forward to working on this project.
My setup will be done using a lot of the same parts used on his car.

Christmas in February!!! I love getting new parts. I've got SFC's, SLP runners, Intrax springs, and adjustable shocks/struts coming someday soon I hope. Every day this week, I've expected each part to be sitting neatly on my deck when I return home from work, but have been disappointed thus far with no new parts to greet me.

reminds me of the times I sent a way for that free toy featured on a box of cereal. "send 4 upc symbols and the form to recieve your own Hotwheels car....6 to 8 weeks for delivery" DOH!!!!! You'd go out to the mail box for the first week expecting it to be there.

Thanks.
I wish these were my parts.
The amount of money put into the car is a lot, but you have to consider that Julian (the owner the car) sat behind the wheel of this car at 9 years old back in 81 when his father brought it home from the dealer. It holds a lot of sentimental value.
There are about 6 more boxes at his apartment that he hasnt' brought over yet, and more coming.
The car is getting a new exhaust from the headers to the tips, new motor, new fuel system, aluminum driveshaft, etc....
The only stock parts on it will be the body panels, glass, chassis, rear end, console & dash.
I'll be taking a lot more pictures as well as attempting to write a small article on the install.

And if they take too long you're waiting at the door to the truck!
Think about how many times you see those big ol trucks go rolling by with something for someone.....but its your turn!
It's like getting a gift, even though you payed for it, hehe.

Geez, you might as well of entitled this thread, "Are you jealous." I am very jealous looking at all of that stuff. I love it when I am just sitting in the living room watching TV and I hear that distinct rumble of the UPS truck as the brakes squeel to stop in front of my house.
I watch in anticipation as the UPS guy gets the dolley out and delivers a box of goodies to my door.
As far as I am concerned, the UPS guy is Santa Claus.

What? No Summitracing boxes?
At least the UPS delivered them in good shape. My boxes are almost always smashed or delivered to the wrong address!

Hey Zepher, what springs does he have on his car? I'm wanting to lower mine but I just can't decide what springs... those drop zone springs are really cheap, like 101$...

It's going to be a stock LT1 with roller rockers, headers, exhaust, cold air intake, 52mm TB, Composite Valve Covers, Compsoite Fuel Rail covers, Vette accessorie brackets so A/C is easy to install, and that is about it.
The springs on the car are 1.5" drop springs, can't remember the name though. I know that they are not Eibach or Jamex.

a few replies.
I got the springs from PST when I put the polygraphite bushings on the front I just asked for some performance springs that lower the car a bit. I think the price was like 175 or 150.
I was wondering how long it would take until someone flamed the edelbrocks, what can I say? I have ones on it now and have never had a problem, time to upgrade to a full 3 in system so I decided to go with what I know works. each to his own.
When this is all done Zepher and I will put the conversion and all the pics on a web site, the idea is to have it ready to drive to Florida for the SLP customer appreciation weekend. The money spent well, no comment, Zeph summed it all up nicely earlier on in the post..
Thanks for all the input and previous projects guys and gals without this board I would never of attempted this stuff.

Sorry I dont like the way that edlecraps crimp their pipes down to fit in to the collector, how they use smaller piping than most other co's and I just dont like the way that they are. I've seen more messed up sets of edlecrap hedders than I have ever seen. If you are going to drop some $$'s on a coated set of hedders at least get a set of hedmans, hookers or SLP's (prefered brand is SLP)

the pic doesn't exactly represent the scale of things.. I have a pile like that at home and stuff is still arriving like the aluminum driveshaft, speedo box, dashpad, fuel sender, corvette accessories, some more fittings, wonderbar, phew the list goes on and on, so much stuff I can't remember it all unless I look at the online receipts...

It must be nice to have that kind of cash to throw down. Was that a planned purchase that you guys had been planning on for awhile or are those parts something you ordered just for fun.

The cash aspect, well as Zeph mentioned the car holds alot of sentimental value to me .. I also recently got retired from the Navy on a disability pention soo that helps... oh yeah a college degree helps too... I am also selling the little black probe that is in the back of the pictures to help finance the work..
I am not trying to make anyone jealous, just share the project that I have been thinking about for oh say ten years (my intention is to post the processes not the parts).. The dollar amount can be left to the imagination lets just say the car is getting different insurance after it is finished.
Hopefully when it is done I will know more and can share with the rest of you, there are many ways to do the swap, I am approaching it with the view that I want the car to last another twenty two years..

Hey man, I can understand your reasoning to build up your bird. I have had my bird for 6 years (not near as long as you have been around yours) but it still holds a special place in my heart. I would like to modifiy it like you are doing yours but right now Im in no situation to do so.
I REALLY look forward to seeing the build up of your Trans Am. I love what you've done with it so far. I am a huge fan of the 82-84 birds. I can't wait to see how it turns out. Its giving me a great deal of motivation to spice up my firebird.
Good luck with it!
